My Z has been sitting for a while and I'm doing a bunch of work to it now. I drained the fuel tank, because I don't want to run any old fuel through the car. While I had the fuel pump assembly out I noticed the fuel pump sock/fuel strainer should be replaced.

I called a few places locally and no one can get it separately from the fuel pump.

Called concept z and they can't get it separately and don't have an aftermarket option either.

Anyone know of any good options for replacing this?

I searched for a bit no luck. Maybe just upgrade while your there to what everyone runs in those. Im not familiar with Z's most things do ok with a walbro 255. Maybe call walbro directly see if they can send you just a filter and you could retrofit it. ?

Good luck!

Funny you should say that cuz I just happen to have a new walbro 255 just laying around. Bought it for a 240sx I used to own. But a walbro 255 isn't as strong as a stock z32 TT fuel pump. A walbro 255 is supposed to support up to around 500hp when a Stock TT pump can support around 700hp. I'd almost rather re-use this old sock than downgrade. Having that extra safety buffer of fuel is just one less reason to not worry about leaning out.

Thanks for digging around though!

Woahs factory bigger than a 255 huh. That is interesting considering i've seen many times people kill there walbro255 from running below a 1/4 tank of fuel. I guess the extra volume coming back from the engine over heats them. Is the return fuel line like bigger on those than say a 240sx?

Ive seen walbros support 200-450. Any higher and id go bigger.

There is 2 different models of the walbro 255. One is 255HP or (high pressure) that would be the one you "could run". If you look at the charts on web you'll see why.

Fuel line is 8mm including the return line. Apparently some people double up two 255's.

Ill have to dig that pump out and take a look at it.
