Fuel pump location

I have been thinking I need to change the fuel pump in my 90 240sx since I am experiencing poor performance, gas milage and the car is just running really bad! I have replaced the plugs, cap and rotor and nothing doing!

I think I found the access panel in the trunk to get to the pump but would like some clarification as to whether that is it or not. What I am talking about is to the right of the spare tire, a gray plate with 4 screws/bolts with some black tape covering what looks like wires leading to another small covered hole. Is this access to the pump?

that's it, under that is the access hole in the tank itself. Don't strip out those tiny screws, drop any in the tank or gouge your hand on the trunkhole messin with the hoses, all three suck and don't ask how I know, I deny everything!

Now that you mentioned the s14, and this will probably sound stupid, but what does that actually mean? I've seen s14, s20, etc.. and have no idea what that means! What does Sylvia have to do with the Nissan engines?
