So I just recently got a 1990 300zx that my buddy sold to me before he got deployed and we replaced the fuel injectors, put the car back together and it won't start. I bought a new wiring harness and clips that connect to the injectors that I will be putting on tomorrow because the old ones were cracked, some broken in half ect. The big issue we saw was that fuel actually was dripping out of the exhaust while starting it. Would the new harness help? I'm new to working on cars and especially with Nissan motors so bare with me lol. Any suggestions? Should I buy anything else?? Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you guys

I would double check to make sure it is fuel in the tailpipe, and make sure it isn't just dripping on the pipe from somewhere else if it is fuel. If so, you likely have much bigger problems. The only way fuel gets to the exhaust would be for both combustion not occurring, AND a valve not closing properly. If you have a Catalytic converter on your car, and there is fuel in your exhaust, it is likely junk now as well.

Find out if it is FOR SURE fuel, and that it is FOR SURE, coming out of your engine and into the exhaust pipe. Then post your findings here. That will help narrow down the issue.

My guess is that you pinched one or more of the o rings while installing the injectors. This is quite common for anyone not familiar with working on the Z32. Just be careful you don't hydro lock the engine while trying to start it.

This, pinching an oring is very easy to do with these type of injectors.

Did you install the new style injectors? or did you stay with the oem style injectors?

I highly doubt you are dripping gas out the tailpipe, lots of people think this when they have a rich condition and condensation, usually they have gutted or no cats, if you have cats this will clear up as the car warms.
