Can you replace the flexible fuel hoses at the back of the engine without removing the plenum? More leaks here (I just replaced the bypass hose in front and #2 injector o-rings) as I still have a lovely fuel smell under the hood. Looks like the felxible fuel lines that connect to the pressure regulators and rails may be seeping. Has anyone had any luck at reaching these from the top and not having to pull the plenum off?

BTW Could Nissan have not run the rails out a distance to make these really easy to get to for service?

No.

You need to remove the plenum. it will be tough to remove the old fuel line and will be almost impossible to do with the plenum on. and so easy with it off.

We take the whole rail off and do the work on a bench where it is easy to get at everything.........Human back repairs are much more expensive.

I have had some success at reaching the screws on the clamps and tightening them. A lot just depends on the direction the clamps were facing when they were last installed. That may solve or at least help your problem for a while.

Thanks guys! Last night I did manage to squeeze a small open end down and tighten the upper clamp. Not enough drive time this morning to see if it had any impact. It is hard to see exactly where the leak is originating. How hard is it to get the rails off the heads? I have to be realistic here -- the plenum is going to have to come off, as #2 injector leaked and I assume the others cannot be far behind. Thus, I realize that I will need to replace the o-rings int he other injectors soon. The knock sensors and harness will be changed at the same time. Is it difficlut to remove the fuel rails? Do they have o-rings also? Thanks!!!
