No, not performance oriented. Sorry.

When I was reattaching the upper timing chain cover I noticed the rubber gasket attached to the gover that mates against the engine is dried and cracking off in places. I sent a request to Courtesy but they told me there is no such gasket. EverythingNissan had a part listed for the CA20E but nothing for the CA18DE.

1)Does anyone have a part number for this?2)Given that there shouldn't be any liquid spraying around behind the cover, should I care?

Thanks.

Timing Chain? Were you working on a CA? Hehehe, I'm JK, it happens to the best of us. Anyway, don't worry about the gasket thing. If you're really concerned about it and just HAVE to have something on there, use some RTV.

Hehe, BELT. I was wondering why it was so difficult to get that chain to fit. =] Thanks though; I need to stop being paranoid and just put the engine in the car.
