I have a CAT Back Stillen exhaust, Takada intakes "Short ones" and Invidia HFC's. Stillen does not give you a Y-Pipe so you have to reuse the factory one. My went bad so I had to replace it

I been looking into replacing my factory Y-Pipe for close to a year. that XYZ Pipe from MotorDyne "spelling" started to look like a good option "Still didn't like the fact that it has no Mesh for flex" But I called and email them many many times and no help from them and just making me wait forever. I gave up on them. I got my hands on a 370Z and sure be hold. the factory Y-Pipe in the Z is the same one as my M37X. That made me wonder and asked a friend that has a G37X to let me take it up a lift. all three are the same :mike

All I needed was a Y-Pipe that doesn't start to close right away from 2-1 and looking around I decided to buy this one and give it a try. Works like a charm!!! at "$200" $160 + $40 I though it was a good deal but then I noticed that another company got some up in Amazon for $180 after Shipping!

This is a good deal at $180. And good Quality. the XYZ Pipe goes for close to $500 and no Flex Mesh plus the wait and no service I was getting from them

No doubt. Great deal. But my xyz does have flex mesh. But for the price. Might as well go Megan.

I wanted to go that route since there was nothing else I could find. I called them many times and sent them emails regarding the Y-Pipe.

Sales couldn't help me at all and they would tell me that I Tech would call me back but they never did. or calling them and saying that we will get to you about it. I sent Emails with detailed info and pics but I also never got a reply.

I needed to replace the part so I started to do my own HW since I couldn't find one that would fit without going custom.

I'm passing the word around so that the next guy can know about a good option for replacing the factory y-pipe

If I would have that expiernce. I'd have a very sour taste in my mouth. :tisk: I'd avoid them like the plague. Can't remember who told me that the Motordyne 370z ypipe would fit our cars in rwd version. Y'all awd guys have more fitment issues to worry than us. My pipe fit great. :chuckle: No issues. Very nice quality. Never dealt with motordyne Directly. I dealt with Z1 Motorsports. I've had good luck with their CS. :dblthumb: I think it's a fantastic option along with being very affordable. :bigthumb: I will share this. I've talked to 3 tuners near me. Not 1 liked Megan's quality control of their parts. :gotme I can't offer an opinion as I've never used them. But I thought I would share what was told to me. Either way. Good research and thank you for sharing another option on our cars. :werd:

I don't hold anything against any company. they sell a pipe that won't work in our X models. the two pipes start to narrow almost right away. I would have bought one if it was to work

I was trying getting a hold of them for months. in the end I couldn't anymore due to my pipe starting to leak

Hope I don't sound negative but I used a Megan exhaust 10 years ago on a Spec V Sentra. It did break at the welds eventually at maybe 10,000 miles. I'm not saying this Y-pipe is poor quality but keep an eye on it. That's all.

If you've installed it please give us feedback on the sound and performance gains/losses you've noticed. I tried an eBay y-pipe on my car and it was a horrible experience.

I will keep an eye out on the pipe. I really couldn't wait on that XYZ one anymore. Like I said, I waited five to six months on them. in the end I had to replace it with what I could find. My factory pipe started to leak and the fumes would get inside having outside air on. plus the sound it was making giving it gas

If I have to replace it and they have one that will fit our X models at that time then I will get it. I don't care if is $200 or $3,000. I have a 3 year old daughter and the last thing I want is her breathing fumes in the car

Reviving an old thread; I just installed the megan racing Y-pipe and it fits like a glove. Bolts right up to the OEM cats and my Stillen exhaust.

i been using mine for like a year and a half with no problems at all. just like you said, it does bolt right up with no problem. I have high flow cats with the full stillen setup and it was also a direct fit.

The one thing i had to remove was that lil company plate in between the two pipes. one of the two welds that hold it in place broke off and that started to rattle a bit

Is there a brand and part number for this?

Does this work with the stock exhaust, planning on changing at a later date.

I got mine using Amazon Prime; it was a bit cheaper and free shipping.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DE ... UTF8&psc=1
http://meganracing.com/mr-y-pipe-n7z.html

I see no reason why this wouldn't work with the OEM exhaust.

Since the install, have you noticed any changes in sound or performance with this y-pipe?

So it doesn't say anything about fitting the 5.6 awd cats, had anyone done this with the V8 awd? Let my know

It looks like nice stuff

The 5.6 cats are not bolted in like the 3.7 IIRC, I don't think it will bolt onto a 5.6 exhaust. The two only seem to be the same AFTER the Y pipe.

As far as fitting RWD, this will definitely fit if it fits AWD, the only difference exhaust-wise is the transfer case for AWD. Since RWD doesn't have that it will work the same and just have extra space.

After seeing pics if this installed it looks much better than the one I tried, had I known I would have tried this one instead.

It looks like the same part (OEM pipes are the same) but the connection to the cats is different; see factory diagrams below.

So let me get this straight no one has tried the Megan Y pipe on the M56X yet? I’d be willing to try it for 199 on prime and be the guinea pig!!!

Look at the diagram; I'm pretty sure your cats are welded to the ypipe on the 5.6 rather than having a flange like the 3.7.

They ARE welded to the Y-pipe, so it will NOT be a direct fit. Two things:
1. On the M56/M56s/M56x, you will have to bolt it directly onto the exhaust manifolds.
2. Before you do that, look closely at the diagram. The flanges on the M37 cats are orientated differently than the flanges on the M56 manifold.

So, the Megan Y-pipe will need to be modified to fit the M56x. The flanges will need to be cut and rewelded to match the M56 profile. Also bear in mind that some length will have to be added since you're bolting it up to the manifolds. It may be wise to take a few measurements; mainly from the manifold flanges to the resonator assembly. Also, I'm not sure about the width between the flanges. They may not even be the same.
