Well I bought a 1989 vg30e engine transmission, ecu, and wireharness and I was just wondering I know the rod are forged stock but what about the pistons? How much boost can the n/a vg30e handle?

The stock pistons are cast but surprisingly they still hold up for quite a while. There's been at least on guy i know making around 500 whp on stock internals with the normally aspirated engine. 300 to 400 whp should be pretty easy to make and still last for a while. Forged of course would be best to go with and would guaranty they last a while.

Honestly I wont be going over 300rwhp on the stock pistons for a while. It is good to know that they are known to handle more than 10psi from the stock turbo.

if you want to save yourself a lot of headaches, just stick with one turbo. the vg30 is large enough to spool a decent sized turbo quickly.if you don't know about turbocharging read 'maximum boost' by corky bell. its a great read.

as for computers... look up nistune, would probably be your best bet.

OR

you can get the stock turbo setup running on a stock ECU and then worry about making huge power out of it.

Here ya go again VG30ETT:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSRwxO9cHjY

Not my car but pretty much wut I planned to do in the 510 but upon looking at the complexity of tt's on the sohc its a bit discouraging. The only reason I had the tt idea in the 1st place was to avoid crossing over the exhaust in front of the motor because of space in the dime.
