This is to help those who have questions about how to install the footwell lighting. You can connect the wire to any power source you like but the easiest to control without having to add another control is with the dimmer switch. I got these LED's off eBay, but I later found similar ones on dealextreme.com for cheaper.

Make sure you have required materials

More materials not pictured are wire stripper, extra cable and some heat shrink if you want.

pop the fuse cover off

Stick your fingers in to the left and pop the side cover off

Disconnect the dimmer switch

Use the wire stripper to strip the LED wire, and stick the wire into the slots as deep as you can, make sure you have a good connection
If you want the LED to dim with your dash lights connect the positive part of the LED to the purple wire and the negative part to the middle black wire
If you want them to dim opposite as in when you dim your dash lights, the LED's get brighter, connect the positive side of the LED to the middle black wire and negative to the outside black wire

Connect the dimmer switch back and test your lights.

For the passenger seat do the same making sure to run the wire through the groove

I haven't done the passenger seat yet because the LED's I bought came with short wire, so I need to find some wire and solder it to the LED wires. Hopefully will post pics within the week of that part

Instead of passing the wire through the grove there to get it into the passenger side, you might want to pass it behind the center console. What i mean is by the gas and brake pedals there is a space that goes directly into the passenger foot well. Just another idea for you but it is looking good.

That's exactly what I did when we installled the pink led's/neons under my footwells. That way the cord is not visible at all, and it fits in nicely behind there.

What if you want the lights to com on only when the doors are open is there a wire nearby the dimmer switch that does provide power for the overhead light?
Thank you Michael

I too have purchased LED strips off of ebay, however would like them to work off of the interior light door switch. Eg. LED's fade on and off with interior light, and can be forced on and off with the dome light switch if possible, otherwise, just fading in and out with the interior light would be fine.

Can anyone help me with the easiest way to wire this in/place to tap wires to accomplish this without pulling out the entire roof lining.

Thanks!

in the dimmer connector, look where there are three wire connected. Insert the cables into so the tip of the dimmer wires, and the tip of the LED wire touch. It should be a tight connection. The slot is where the wire touches the connector.

Also its better how yankeefan said it, pass the wire for the passenger LED behind the center console.
