I have a 91 maxima automatic and was thinking about changing the transmission filter. As far as i know it has never been changed. So i went to autozone to try and get a filter and they tell me the computer shows the parts not available for my car? Anyways i see one on o'reilly's for $20. Should i change it or just do a flush of my old fluid?

On something that old, I would not flush it. Drop the pan and replace the filter.

Always change the filter they arent that expensive and its not worth the issues you will have it its not cleaning properly its not even that your car is to old a flush is stupid and to much work to take it off much easier to just change it then you know that you did a job well done :)

:luck:

Dont flush the transmission just drop the pan and change the fluid
The pan bolts are probably not the same length for each hole so watch that
Probably want to use a torque wrench to tighten them

I was told i can not change this myself, my car does not have a pan. I would have to take apart the whole transmission in order to change the filter..
