flickering light? fuel pump? filter? any ideas

sorry this is so long but please read through Alright so i got my 240 about 3 weeks ago its a 1992 fastback i was pumped when i bought it the guy said the fuel pump would need to be replaced because when you step on the gas it cuts out. their was also a check engine light on. so i figured id start from the top and check the code. then when i found the ecu it was mangled. so i replaced it... simple fix! turned off the check engine light and it ran like a champ. then the next day the light came back on then i would drive about an hour away get out at the gas station to get something come back out and the car wouldnt start unless i turned it on and off repeatedly till it started then the other day it started sputtering when i was on the highway at about 70mph or so but would stop after about 15 miles.... and would randomly start doing it again. then one day after about and hour and a half drive i was at a light and it just died then it wouldnt start (but unlike before it was actually turning over) then after about 30 seconds it finally started so i drove up the hill and it was sputtering alot... i pulled over and it died again... so i let it sit for a while started it back up and it was fine for the drive home. then the next day the power steering started going out so i put in more fluid and when i pulled out of the gas station the powersteering took a dump and it started pouring fluid. so i took it to the mech and he fixed it it was just the big *** bold with the 2 washers (one copper and one aluminum) then he spreayed it all down with carb cleaner, some kind of degreaser im guessing, and then washed that all off with water.... so it was fine to drive around all day until i stopped at one place and when i came back to the car it was acting like the battery was dead so i popped the clutch in reverse as i rolled down the hill to start it and it worked so i drove for about 20 mins and AGAIN it wouldnt start. i got a jump. it started after a while drove it home. i get home pull in and it almost dies when i parked. i turned the key off and everything shut off not even power to bring the seat belt thing down. so i get out to check the code on the ecu and look over and i head a repeated clicking underneath like where the center consel storage box is and i can see the light under the dash flashing. so i find a gold box under the center consel thing and i just unplug one of the things and it stops but the car wont start. im really lost at where to even begin! so any ideas would be much helpfull! hell ill even pay someone to come check it out if they could im in santa rosa california
