I have a 2002 Infiniti I35.

I went and installed a directFM adapter for my sirius radio. It required me to pull off the passenger front panel (where the glove box is) and the side panel alongside the gear shifter, and on the side of the climate control and radio.

To do so, I disconnected an orange plug attached to the top of the flange where the latch for the glovebox is, as well as removing a light for the glovebox.

I also pulled the driver side front panel (disconnecting the switch for the automatic seat control) and driver side side panel.

After I reassembled everything, now my airbag light is flashing. Could disconnecting that yellow plug above the latch broken the airbag, or thrown a code?

Is there any way I can reset the CPU in the car w/o a code scanner to see if the light stops flashing, or did I do something really dumb here?

You can disconnect the battery for 24 hours. That should allow enough time for the ecu to clear.

There are instructions on resetting the airbag light in the FAQ instructions above (I think) but the battery option sounds easier to me. I just replaced a side airbag module on an 99 I30 and understand that there was an old style harness that generally led to problems. According to the mechanic it was redesigned with a new module to prevent these kind of problems. You may want to try the reset option first because the replacement option will set you back about $600 bucks. Good Luck.

I tried the doorswitch method, but it didn't work. I will try the battery method this weekend.

Can you reset this via a scanning tool, or can it only be done easily via consult II?
