Anyone know someone or a company that would be up for restoring a black nissan 300zx, 1994, convertible, original owner (straight from the factory). About 130,000 miles.
Just had new brakes.
Needs a little work mechanically but mainly body work, paint and interier.
Someone owes money for the front bumper so this a great opportunity for someone who can make this look mint and invest what is needed.

Only interested in $10,000 minimum for it but would like to hold out for at least 15-20.

Need to know what area you are in, that would help out. I think 10k may be max you would get out of it, that even may be pushing it, and dependent on where you are at. 130k is low, but for 10k+ that is actually high.

I know verts are almost a collector because of the few made, but most will be looking for TT's for that price. If you are really looking for 15k-20k, eventually someone will want it, just need to find that person.

If you are looking for 10k right now, and it needs work, high chances you will not get it. Restoring it through a shop will more than likely cost anywhere from 5k-10k alone.

A Z32 with 130K miles that needs body, paint and interior work as well as mechanical repairs is a $5k car at best - maybe less.

Saddling someone with a restoration project isn't an "opportunity."

^ AMEN! - much less than $5k... Sorry, that proposal doesn't make any sense at all to anyone who's been shopping, working on, paying attention to these cars. MAYBE 10-15 years from now, but not today.

That is a strange post and I am not really sure what it means. What in the world does someone owes money for the front bumper mean? Could this be Jim from "Taxi" ?

^ Yep. Possibly a language barrier, or someone not very knowledgable about the Z32.

Just to cap this off, all above is true and this just doesn't make any sense as the Z32 convertible just isn't all that much in demand like a TT, and certainly not for the prices mentioned...we have -100k mile verts sitting for months around here (Washington State) on craigslist for $7-9k because they aren't worth more than $4-5k like any other NA that it is, even if overall condition is always 8+ of 10.
Any resto shop will be looking for $10K+ for anything other than simple work that most anyone could DIY themselves most likely, with the result a still a 130K car if in now excellent condition perhaps...but still in the $5-6k price range to sell in any reasonable time, and certainly never going to recoup the resto price much less any buying price.
As an example, my Z specialist's head mechanic just sold a '92 TT'd 2+2 (4-5 year project) with a ton of special jdm parts and brand new interior, rebuilt/upgraded engine and top end complete setup for about $17k, and this was a really, REALLY nice car definitely in the top 1% of cars you might be able to purchase. NO WAY you get anywhere close to that with a 130k mile vert under any circumstances...
