It was raining and the backup camera was useless. All i saw was about a half dozen round blurry spots that totally obscured the image, caused by rain drops on the camera. I got out, wiped off the camera and all was good. Is this camera and/or its placement an issue? Is everyone experiencing this, or was this a rare incident?
There was a light on in the top console where the map lights are located. The light was centrally mounted and was a small thin rectangle. What is this light's purpose?
At about 65 mph, there was a slight shaking of the steering wheel. My thought was an out of balance tire. The TPMS had the tires listed as 36psi up front and the rears at 37 and 38psi. The salesman was trying to convince me that the uneven and overfilled pressure was the cause of the shimmy/shake. Any thoughts?
What is the difference between using the sport button and putting the transmission in LOW? I tried a impromptu 0-60 in low and it seemed a bit quicker than in drive. What does "sport" do?
This model had the 5" (i believe) screen and the stock radio. Is the upgraded radio ask that much better? I'm looking at adding the SV premium package, and was wondering if the larger screen automatically gives a better radio unit.
There was no moonroof in this vehicle, and i cannot justify $1300 for the roof. But I'm curious...how many pieces of glass move? Is there only one in front that moves, or is there a second one further to the rest that moves? Can the rest of the glass be flipped up, or only slid? I looked for a video of the roof's operation, but could not locate one.
I'll probably have a few more questions afterwards. Thanks!
The water on camera lenses thing is something every car with this type of system will run in to. If it's raining hard enough then the cameras will be useless and so will the BSW/LDW functions.
The light is a map light and is becoming common on newer cars so you can see the interior at night. There is no way to turn it off that I know of but it doesn't distract me.
I don't think a 1-2psi difference would cause a shake in the wheel. More likely the tires are just not balanced.
Putting the transmission in low will give you a better 0-60 than Sport will. It disables all the fake shifting stuff they programmed in to make the CVT feel less like a CVT. You'll get bad mileage and it's probably not a good idea to do that at high speeds for long periods. Sport will hold the RPMs higher for longer which gives an almost imperceptible improvement in acceleration.
The upgraded radio is not worth it unless you actually want NAV. The sound will be the same and actually it seems buggier than the non-upgraded one (search the forums here, you'll see people having different issues with the nav system radio). I would only go for that if you want any of the features in the premium package.
As far as the moonroof I think the front moves but that is the majority of the glass. The front also has a tilt function. There are lots of reports of moonroof rattle on here so I would not get that feature unless you really want it. Head room in the rear seats is reduced by 1-2" due to the moonroof hardware.
