I talked about it enough so I thought I might as well not be lazy and do it. I was going to go with the tint covers, but I got it and wasn't too impressed. Anyways, they look darker in the pictures then they do in real life and I lost my digi cam so I had to use my phone and it's a little hard to see, but you get the point.

Yeah, I need to do a write up. It's not very professional, but it works for me.

I also want to do the 3rd brake light as well.

Those look pretty good. First one looks glossy while the later ^^^ looks gray to match the paint.

While I have never used NightShades to paint tail lights, I have used regular Kraylon Gloss Black enamel before. Nice gloss black look and the lights shine through it relatively well. At least for the few years I had it on other cars I never was hassled by the PoPo's....

If you want them to match the paint better you should wetsand and polish them just like you would the finish of a car...

It will knock down any orange peel and will make the finish look perfectly smooth and shiny...almost like tinted glass. I have done a ton of these and trust me...its worth the extra few hours to polish them.

Not trying to give you any **** here...but they look like they could be a lot smoother and glossier than how they appear in the pics.

Ive never bothered to clear coat any of the ones Ive ever done but I did spend some time hitting them with a foam pad on a dewalt wheel with a few differant grit compounds and then with a finishing glaze/polish. it was the high speed polishing that really made them look like glass. Im not sure if you hand polished them but that never seemed to do the trick for me...

maybe the picture is deceptive? is the haze around the trunk a reflection of something above it? They just appear to have some roughness to them still? Not saying they look bad....just trying to give you some tips on how to make them a bit smoother if needed. My first pair I did looked really bad and a buddy of mine that used to paint for me at my old shop showed me how to get them perfect..It was great info that im trying to pass along if needed.

There's reflections everywhere in those pictures so they are very deceptive. Thanks for all the info though

Actually they shine like the paint, they blend in perfectly, I just took a crappy picture that day
