black tops and some late model redtops

expensive as hell fo sho... but on that note.

If I was building a high hp setup... I'd start with an lq4 or an ls motor.high hp sr20's are expensive. I prefer stock SR and nice wheels... over high horsepower.

but to each his own.
well i've always liked sr's and my last s13 had one swapped in already so since i already had the motor why not? and with getting a gt30 for $350, you better believe i'm gonna make a cheap 400hp top mount setup

now i do agree with WC about some things you pay for the name... i normally wouldn't pay for certain things just because of name but on this build i wanted to keep most of parts the same company. i.e full-race manifold and downpipe, apexi downpipe and exahust

i have donw a build before where it was what ever part i could find or make the cheapest but still good/ ok qualityThe Budget Build

but this i am going all out: full-race, apexi, and haltech take up 75% of the money in the car as it sits now

going with all the same company is smart for parts since they are tested and intended to be used together. i just thinking that piping is piping as long is its good mandrel bend, nonrestrictive, quality material and good welds.

besides what else are you gonna do while you're in Iraq besides buy expensive car parts

Yes I do plan on going for more but im not really a numbers person. I know that the sr trans won't hold up, so eventually I will have to go with the z32 trans as well. But for now, 450hp is the goal that i wll stop at.Until that bores me lol

Well I am home now and I started working on the 240. I also have a 97 EX Civic coupe for a DD so now I can go all out on the 240.First I had to take care of was the hole in the exhaust. The one hanger ripped off and put a decent sized hole in the exhaust. I got my buddy Scott from Scott's Exhaust on Prince St to hook me up and patch the hole and add a hanger.beforeafter

Then I went on to fix that ghetto IC setup. One of the elbows was from Pepboys and was plastic and snapped in half when the other piping bottomed out pulling into the driveway. Went to HomeDepot and bought a 3' angle bar with the holes to use as the IC support brace. I bolted the center to the hood latch, then Scott welded the ends to the headlight/bumper support brackets. Mounted the IC in the center and the Scott made some new piping for me to cover the difference and to replace the one side.plastic elbow

I think it somewhat better than the previous IC setup, but the piping isnt the greatest. This is jus A temporary fix until I put the new turbo setup on.

Well I have a small update thats also kinda funny. Since I am to lazy to fix my cluster so the gauge work, I ran out of gas in the 240. But it gets better. My buddy Shane and I decided that the car would make it to the gas station if we coasted it down the hill and didnt hit any redlights. Well we didn't hit any red lights, but there was a slight incline to get to Turkeyhill. We made halfway up but we couldn't puch the car because it was raining and we were just sliding back. So I tried to start the car to get up the rest of the way for about 5 minutes but it was completely empty. Called one of my other friends and he pushed me with his jeep the rest of the way up. Now the scary part. I started to pump gas in then smoke started pouring out of the tank's opening. Lucki;y nothing caught on fire or blew up. Then I tried to start the car and there was nothing. Figure I probably burned the fuel pump out. So I pushed the car to a parking space and left there until the morning. I went home and pulled out the Walbro to take with me in the morning. The next morning I took theold fuel pump out and put the Walbro in. And it started right, seems to run a lot better now as well since it did have the stock ka fuel pump.here some pics of the aftermath. (the stock fuel pump)melted the entire plastic top

Also picked up my rear wheels today. 15"x10" -43 offsetDefinately going to need some fender flares lol

The best part about it is they are only $125 per rim and they clear Z32 brakes with no problem. Getting the 15"x8" for the fronts this week, unsure on the offset right now (for the fronts).

Well for those of you who don't know already this car is for sale. The starter went out a couple of days ago right after I fixed the overheating problem. Plus I don't feel like doing any patch work on the frame, so its for sale and taking offers
