Hi all,

I realize Z33 is fading out as Z34 emerges, but still, 350Z has always been the car of my dream since Day 1.

And I am finally about to get one!

I have the options of getting either an 06 or an 07, both auto. Which one I should I pickup?

I know some 06 auto has oil burning issues. Is there anything negative that I should know about for 07 models?

Your input is highly appreciated!

Let me be more of a Help....Dont get an 06' unless its under a good warranty because of a commonly known oil issue, But get an 07', the reason being is the warranty will be there to back you up if any major issues come up and it is newer. You should be fine either way as long as you have a warrany! But still dont get an Auto. Thats an honest answer!

I am leaning towards the 07 since it has more HP to begin with, though currently it has much less mods available.

I am well aware of the 06 oil burning issue-------but I thought this issues is mostly found on manual models, not autos?

I've driven auto 06 before, and boy I must say I LIKE IT!!! In this case, I don't have a choice between transmission, since both cars for sale are auto anyway, so.

But thank you for your comments / time though!

Either one will do you justice. 06 has the VQ revup where as the 07 has the variant above, the vq35hr, twin intakes, throttle bodies, etc.

Oh yeah and see if you can post pics of both cars.

I haven't see the cars yet, but I know they are both PPW, and they have 4 more silver ones to choose from.

I prefer to the HR engine. Higher red line, highter output.

And I must admit, I am somewhat a fan of the power bulge on the hood. Remind of the goold old 240Z.

I would definitely go for the 07 model. Good luck on your purchase!

I would also go with the 07 – cleaner history, less problems. I also like the bulging hood (typing that feels so wrong..LOL). As far as going with auto or manual, I drove both and you can definitely feel the difference. Sure, the HP are the same but the way it’s delivered to the rear wheels is much better in the manual. If you would prefer a manual and your only reason for getting an auto is because that’s all that’s available at the moment than maybe you should wait. I know I would. Whatever you decide, good luck and enjoy the car.

Links please. Every review I've read says the opposite. Do you drive an automatic?

Auto is boring. Who cares if its .2 seconds faster then a standard? Its all about how you feel driving it.

What a surprise! BTW auto might be faster in a 1/4 mile but a different story in the track.

Ah, that sucks, I watched a guy dfive out of a dealership with a car I was about to look at. As I got out of my car and talked to the sales rep, he tells me he just sold the car.

imagine my suprisein theory an auto is faster, most door slammer drag classes are dominated by auto's, there are also fewer gears to there is less shifting the powerglide is a very popular drag racing trans, it's only got 2 speeds! the rails andmost of your tube frame cars use a manual box with dog cut gears and they do not clutch to shift

I doubt the Z33 auto is as fast as the manual but even if it is it's irrelivant unless you intend to use you car for nothing more than drag racing

auto's are fine if you lack the co-ordination to shift........ like richie, or you simply want to drive the car and performance is not on your list of priorities

you'll notice only about 1/3 of all coupe Z33's are auto, but about 2/3 of the convertibles are auto's, as the convertibles are heavier, and have a less rigid chassis, performance is clearly not on their list of priorities

GUYS!

I've just bought a brand new 2008 Grand Touring for $44000 CAD!!!

It's pearl white, but in Canada, this colour is called Glacier Pearl, rather than Pike Peak White. Which I think sounds just as cool (pun intended), LOL!!!

OMFG! I finally own a Z! HOLY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!

Sorry for not being able to contain my excitement here, but you folks must understand the Z, which usually has a price of $51,000 CAD, is not something every 20-something-year old could afford =)

****!!! This thing is a BEAST!!! LOVE IT! JUST LOVE IT!!!!!!!
