Just like the title says, this is the last chance this motor gets to get it's act together or else it's going to go into a canal. I installed a RWD CA18DET long block back in January of this year because the previous engine I was using (an AWD unit) had done it's bidding well for 3 years and was being sold. to one of our own 'rookie_CA18' . The engine lasted for a couple of months, giving me many dyno runs, and seemed like it would last. I decided to remove the kevlar disk and add a 6 puck ceramic piece for more grip and later the engine would start losing oil pressure and eventually start knocking.

I removed the oil pan to discover that the #3 journal had been taxed and was done, so I ordered a new crank, oil pump, bearings, etc. Installed these components, got the car up and running, and foolishly thinking that everything was okay. A couple of days later, they was having an event moroso motorsports park, so I grabbed my son (the real boost_boy) and we hit the turnpike heading to palm beach. First victim was an evo8 that looked rather intimidating, but since we were heading in a straight line and there weren't too many other cars around us, I said what the heck. My son said "smoke 'em daddy" and I guess he thought the sentra had a blitz NUR spec back there sheetz and geeglez, so he took off and I chased, caught him and strolled right past him.

After that, I'm staring at the oil pressure gauge, paranoid from previous issues and to my dismay, as I went faster, the oil pressure dropped. So now a lot of weekend racers are coming up the turnpike and headed to the track. Some of the guys are familiar with the sentra, so they don't bother, but a G35 coupe clowned-me by getting close to me and backing-off on a few instances, and knowing I'm having troubles with the engine, I let him have it anyways. Why did I do that? To make a long story short, I made it to the track, but not before I experienced more troubles. I tried to leave the track and while leaving, an STi shows his butt, so I go and show him a thing and the car started knocking horribly. This was back in April this year, so about 3 weeks ago, I had the engine done at a machine shop that's very reputable. I assemble the motor, dropped the thing in my car crank it, it didn't want to idle, so I left it at my friend's house. The next day, I go and crank it and decide to drive it to my house which is only 12miles from my friend's crib and to my disbelief it spun that same #3 bearing again on all new crank, bearings, etc, but the same clutch I installed. So here it is for the last time, I know it's not my clutch because I've used this clutch set-up before and I had the clutch checked again. It sucks........so I'll leave you guys/girls with these photos while I go finsh assembling this thing.

P.S. say a prayer for this engine because if it fails, it may just get a few holes put through it to make sure it's unserviceable.

I thought that you found out it WAS the clutch that was causing the problems? I thought it was too tall and do when you pushed on the clutch it was shoving the crank into the oil pump?

We'll soon see how these hypothesis that was spat at me, hold up. The engine is already in the car and bolted down, but I don't I'll be starting till around Friday or Saturday. AS much as I would like to fault the clutch again, I don't kow if I can. The new clutch was custom made to match the kevlar clutch I had been using for years.

The sentra is back up and running after the 60-1 turbo became a mosquito killer, so I resorted to my hybrid with the .48 backhousing. I just received my leak-down tester in the mail today, but I probably won't screw with it until later tomorrow. I took another compression test today after driving it and compression has jumped from 90psi per cylinder to 105psi per cylinder. All plugs are brownish black and the car is not smoking anymore . The bottom end seems to be solid and the clutch is nowhere near broken in, but performs nicely. The car's temperature varies between 136-176 degrees fahrenheit with the help of my new radiator and the reversal of my 10in. fan's blade. Now I can run the a/c and not worry about it heating up. Well, p'll be heading out in a minute to drive this puppy and I'll keep the forum posted on the car's progress.
