I use it. It's a rally technique. Play Richard Burns Rally. They actually teach it in the tutorial.

Works on mountian passes in real life too. You HAVE to know the road very well.

Infact, find my Suck Creek Touge vid on youtube, I think I used it in the video in the first inside hairpin after the 100mph esses.

And as for the water trick. I tried it. I failed. lol. I had floppy donkey d!ck blown stock suspension at the time though. I think I can do it with my new coils given a smooth road and the smooth entry/exit that I'm known for.

It's just like the G balls in the Drift bible. You have to be smooth to keep the balls together all the time.

Actually it would've been best if he posted in 'your' forum because then you could've locked or deleted the thread. Although now is a great time too. Any thread title w/ Initial D in it that isn't about where to get the dvds is a dead ringer for a lame question.

How can you make a judgment here? Drifting is already ridiculous, and maybe the new guy just needed to get a straight answer. O but of course you GODS of drifting (snicker ) can't tolerate a silly question in your obviously sacred forum.

Get over yourselves. AT least it wasn't a question that he could have searched.

just because you may not understand drifting doesnt change the fact its a motorsport that some people do take very seriously and some people make a VERY good living off of drifting. my job as a moderator is to keep our "sacred" forums clean.

there are serious forums, and bull**** forums. this is a bull**** forum where retarded questions belong.

if you cant understand the difference you shouldnt be posting at all.

"Some people" = < .5%

It's still not a serious sport. It's a fun sport. Next thing you're gonna tell me they hang stuff from their tow hook in a serious manner. Or that riding the door while holing up a "we're number one" finger is serious. Tell me another one.

OK, fine. I won't argue with you about a mod's duties. You guys so too much for me to say anything about it. But I get the feeling your "serious" forum could have used a good laugh, being the dour and gray place it is, and that the kid was probably being serious about it. Hey, if all the people who didn't know anything about a type of racing didn't post here, NICO wouldn't exist. Sorry if I upset you.

You lost me at motorsport there, Joe.

Personally, I deploy a subjective vs objective scoring system to see what is and isn't a sport.

It still takes skill, though.

didnt say RACE, said motorsport. big difference

by your logic the xgames shouldnt exist because 80% of it is subjective.

just stirring the pot btw, drift competitions are ****ing retarded even if i do drive in them hahaha

I call drifting automotive ballet! I tried and cant do what the good guys do. I certainly respect it.

I dont know what a triple lutz is, but Ive tried it and always end up on my arse. THere are people that can do it better than I can accomplish. Therefore I respect those who are able to complete it. Some for drifting...

It's the "Sport" aspect where subjective vs. objective comes in.

No, no, the X-Games could exist, just like figure skating, cheer leading competitions, etc exist.

More stirring...

Drifting is the rhythmic gymnastics of the automotive world (and tandem is synchronized swimming).

The Speed Channel or VS. or G4 or Spike! broadcasting and portraying drifting as a sport stretches credibility almost as much as when ESPN showed Magic: The Gathering tournaments.

I jest I jest.

But I did sense the beginning of the end for drifting as an enthusiast - grassroots non-dilletante infested activity when I heard Kevin Pereira and his underbite on G4 mention that he was "going out drifting this weekend". That was ages ago though since I can't remember the last time I watched that channel.

Pity he didn't have Nick Hogan take him out for a spin.
