hi, sorry about the long post, but it was quite a story.

i was at planet nissan in vegas on monday and would just like to let you know of my experience there. when i arrived i was greeted by a sales person and asked what i was looking for. i said that i was interested in an 07 versa, but that i was just looking and definitely not making a decision or purchase this day. i said that we have a vehicle that is over 8 years old with over 100k miles on it and that we were thinking of maybe getting rid of it. the sales guy said that this is just fine and told me to come along, so he can show me the 07 versas that were left. we finally arrived on the back were i looked at a blue sl, which i really liked, i got the key, sat in it, looked it over from all angles - the usual thing. the price i was given was very good too.i declined the offer for a test drive, because i would want my wife to come along to that too. we live about 2 1/2 hours away, so i said that - if we decide to test that car and then get it - we would have to come back on the weekend. back at the office he introduced me to his boss, who asked me if i wanted to crunch o few numbers, considering my trade-in and so. i told him too that i was just the scout, looking at the car and that i would have to talk it over my my wife - which was fine with him too. eventually we sat down and talked about my trade-in and the price of the versa. i was also told that the best day to be here again would be friday, because that is the last day of the month, and i might even get an even better deal. the sales person told me he would be in contact with me within the next 72 hours and i left, not without making clear again that i was very interested, but not sure about taking the car.the next day i got a call from the sales guy telling me that we should come on friday, because it is the last day of the month and the incentives might not be given on saturday any more. i said that i will talk it over with my wife this evening and call him back wednesday or thursday. so we did and came to the conclusion that even though it was a good deal for the versa and the trade-in we would still hold on to the car we have for now and i was going to call the sales person on thursday about it.then on wednesday night after 8 o'clock i got a call from him asking about when we will come for the car and i told him that we decided not to through with the purchase - that's when his tone and the volume of it changed. he said that all it takes to buy a new car would be a pen and balls and that i came to him, stole 1 1/2 hours of his time, made him believe that i would buy the car and then tell him i wouldn't. he said that i have no character, that i should go back to where i came from (which is germany) and hung up.

Thats an awful experience. But some salesmen are just awful.

Recently, I called up another dealership to confirm some of the information about some rebates and financing. The guy I spoke to over the phone was very helpful with answering the questions, so I considered dealing with him over my preferred dealership. He gave me his name and number and I said I'd call him abck with some quotes to see if he can do better.

I call him back the next day at the number he gave me and gets all nasty with me says "well, this is my cell phone and this is my day off. what do you want" Ugh

yeah man cardealers can be a pain and a half in the ***. i think theres a recent article on nico that highlights a good website for buying new cars. You give them your quote and the car dealers call you back agreeing to your offer. I forgot the website but its one of nico's new articles.

My sympathies are with you. You will be happy that you did not buy a car from them based on this story. I was dumb enough to believe the best in people and bought not just 1 but 2 cars from them. My first was a 2005 Maxima which was sold to me as a new car. In a nutshell, I had the following replaced within 18 months: motor mount replaced twice, the A/C replaced, heat shield replaced twice, catalytic converter, battery, ALL belts and hoses. This all really started within 2 months of purchasing the car. They then tell me that this is a USED car not new. I was "nickled and dimed" to death. When the heat shield broke again (within 2 days of replacing it the first time), I told them they should do the right thing. Only after I contacted the Better Business Bureau did they make an attempt. Wait, it gets better...I end up getting a Infiniti M45 from Planet Nissan and even bought the extended warranty. When I got the car I told them I wanted to bring it back the next day because there was a funny noise when I would break. They said it was my low profile tires. In a nutshell, it took me 4 hours to get them to replace the brakes as there was only 15% remaining. I now have an exhaust problem that both Towbin Infinit (TOTAL idiots) and Planet Nissan are working on. They have had the car 6 days with no resolution...UGH!
