Does anyone who has a 2.5L AC tried adding washers to alter the sound of their exhaust? My brother did it to his car and it sounds much better than stock. I don't have enough money for an exhaust so I was thinking I can add washers to make it sound better. What do you guys think?
washers as in the things that go between bolts? i've never heard of anyone doing that or having had there exhaust sound change from that..... anyone else hear of this before?

A buddy of mine did that to his truck a while back. i def made it much louder but i dont know how it would sound with a 4 banger. but the only place you can do that is either right after the cat or right before the muffler.
good thing is if you dont like it, its cheap to do and cheap to fix...lol

basically what I think the OP is talking about is that you put washers on the bolts that hold the exhaust sections together causing space where the sections connect. making this space allows some of the exhaust fumes/noise to not pass trough the muffler or resonator and making it louder
Yeah they make a pretty big difference but thats also with a 6.0L V8. My buddy's truck was a V8 too so i dont know how it will sound with an engine less than half the size. but theres only one way to find out
