I have a 2014 q60 and I was wondering if anyone has either tried installing magnaflow or Tanabe mufflers by themselves. I'm trying to see if it's worth the extra money to do the axle back. If I get a gain great but it's more just for sound and a better flow. Thanks!

If you just want some more "throat", which I did with my '16 Q50 Red Sport, the Infiniti branded Motorsport axelback exhaust (straight pipes or with mufflers) fits all '14-'17 Q50/Q60's.

I drove both the straight pipes and resonated (muffler) versions, straight pipes were way too loud to me, and there was even vibration in the car. The twin muffler version has a nice growl under acceleration, but does not drone cruising.

There are lots of good choices out there, and catbacks that will give more performance, I mention the Infiniti Motorsport because it is a Nissan/Infiniti product and perfect direct fit, no messing around to get thing lined up.

Also it has really nice voice, I can even get some minor burbs/gurgles with paddle downshifts. Call your local dealers, a lot of them are pre-installing these exhausts, on new/demo cars, they help sales, folks want some growl on performance cars, you can hear/test drive one !!

sounds great but I would think that the dealer would charge an arm and a leg since its from the factory. However, the direct fit would be nice. I know Tanabe makes the axle back with the direct fit and its around 500 bucks.
