So I've been listening to exhaust tones for almost a week now on youtube and a few links from this forum (via searching). I'm a little stuck on Borla or HKS. Now I know they're pretty different but I kind of like the aggressive look of the HKS. Problem is that exhaust seems to ride the line on rasp but I've never heard it in person.

I had a Borla on my Altima coupe before I got rid of it and I loved the exhaust. Seems to be the tone I'm after but again, I'd like to hear opinions from people who have heard both in person and can compare. The only exhaust I've heard on a Z in person is Nismo.

On a side note... I do plan to turbocharge this thing one day so the worry that my Z will become a raspy rocket is something I'd like to avoid. So any clips of anyone running either exhaust with a turbo (no cats) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any opinions.

If you plan on turbo, have you listened to the Greddy EvoTT? I personally love it, and if I ever get friggin money it's what I'm going with. I was thinking about the HKS cause the look, buuuuut like you mentioned in everything I've seen (nothing in person) it seems to be raspy.

I came across the Bassani and was blown away. It's got all the volume of the HKS but with the aggressive low note. Even with test pipes the car still sounds sick. Pretty much sold on that one. I'll take the hp hit for the right sound. Thanks for the input

HKS will not let you down...just pricey.

Let us know what you decide. Make sure to post up a vid clip.

HKS.

it seems a lot quieter in person than in the videos. i definitely don't think it's raspy at all. and yes, i'm talking about the Z33, although the same goes for my Z32.
