EX35 Replacement Tires

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

The OEM size and speed rating (V) kind of limit the tire choices available, so I decided to cross shop different sized and H speed rated tires as well. I typically don't like to stray from the OEM tire size, but it looks like I have a couple more nice choices when doing so.

Here are the tires I've seriously looked at (in order of preference):
Top Tier
1. Michelin Primacy MXV4, 235/55R17 99H SL
2. Nokian WRG2 SUV, 235/60R17 106V XL
Second Tier
3. Goodyear Assurance Comfortread Touring, 225/60R17 98H SL
4. Continental PureContact, 235/55R17 99H SL
5. Michelin Latitude Tour HP, 235/55R17 99H SL
Third Tier
6. Goodyear Assurance TripleTread, 225/60R17 98H SL
7. Michelin Latitude Tour HP, 225/60R17 98V SL (OEM)
8. Nokian WRG3, 235/55R17 103V XL

Hey, NJGuy- realize this was some time ago, but really appreciate your detailed review. Any changes you would make?
Thanks! :bowrofl:

Can't go wrong with Michelin. They are just pricey.

Yeah, that list is pretty old. The only model there that might be available is the Continental PureContact, and I think it's already being phased out to make room for its successor.

The first question you should ask yourself is if you want to stay with the stock specs, which is 225/60R17 with a V speed rating. If you do, it might limit your selection a bit. If you're willing to stray from those specs a bit, a tire in the 235/55R17 size (with a speed rating of H or above) definitely opens up your options. That size isn't too far off and a few of us here have run tires in that size without any issues. There are more performance oriented models available in that size as well. Once you decide on the specs, rank the other features you're looking for in a tire (price, comfort/noise, longevity, handling, etc). I'm sure wet traction would be at the top of your list.

I've found that Michelin and Continental have some tire models that are good "all-around" performers. I usually end up buying one of the two brands, but I'm not exclusive to them either. On my FWD Honda I'm running on a set all-weather tires from Toyo for the colder months.

So basically, think about what you need and want in a tire and post it up here. I'm sure there's a model out there that'll fit what you're looking for. If I get a chance I'll throw a few suggestions your way.
