nobody will pay the 40-50k dealerships are asking for it. For that much Id rather buy a E46 BMW M3 that will walk the EVO8 or buy a WRX and drop 15k into it.

M3's are that cheap? You mean like for a 97-98 right? Not the new 00' models

EVO 8's are around $30-32k, I don't know where you've been looking but you need new sources:pface

I bet you just saw some dealer trying to mark it up because they are so rare right now...

yes'm... because the evo is supposed to rival with the wrx sti.. isn't it?.. or something like that?.. i heard the prices were going to be marked in low 30's also~... (i'd rock that).. haha.. even though i love my s13 way better.. ~cause i get to drift like a crazy dude and not care TOO much if i get a few scratches.. i think i'd prollie drive like an old granny with an evo~.. haha...

yeah, recaro seats, momo steering wheel, brembro brakes, etc.

Engine is 2.0L turbo-intercooled 4 cylinder with a 'twin scrolling' turbo... whatever that means :)

Once I graduate from college and can afford one, I want an EVO... but not one of these 8's, I prefer the V's and VI/VI.5's, those are pure sweetness:drooling

Well i think i would rather get a STI when they come out. But yes the Evo is very nice. but i really think we need more compition in this market then just the WRX and EVO. also i almost bought WRX when my head gasket started failing, but i didnt and am still with out my car 6 months later.

i love the new sti's headlights. they got away from the "upside down" neons and i love their interior matching the outside of teh car. the sti interior is suede right (i don't remeber what SCC said)?

STi's are really nice, and even though I love the EVO's, the STi will be a better car than the EVO's we have right now. I really hope Mitsu takes this into account and counters with a better EVO :thumbup

The way I look at performance and fun is the drive type.

RWD ---> AWD ---> FWD

I much rather have RWD then AWD and for that price range you could get a Nissan 350z or a Infiniti G35 sedan/coupe that has much more power and potential and looks alot nicer. I mean, if you spend $30k+ on a new vehicle, are you really going to take it in the woods and go rally style with it?

I think not!!! LOL

But on the other hand, I suppose if you live in a cold area that gets alot of snow, this would be a car of choice. Even though with all the technology the new cars have, RWD Traction Control should get you through any kind of weather safely.

Just my two cents!

That is the design of the vanes in the exhaust housing. Basically, it is designed to help the turbo spool more quickly. The turbo on this particular 4g63 is a small 16g turbo, which is bigger than the ones on previous 4g63 engines in DSM's.

I posted up specs on the EVO a few months ago. Do a search and you will find it.

The evo 8 is a nice car, but i dont like the styling changes on it. The wrx sti on the other hand is much better imo. 300hp 2.5 liter boxer with active center differential, recaros, momo steeing wheel, brembo brakes, etc. The us sti is actually more powerful than the jdm one! For once we get something better than japan!

Yeah, you all have tried nothing until you hv been inside for a test drive suckers! Of course i didnt test drive it, bt my dad and mybrother did, while i at least got to sit inside inside while they did. Very nice, good handling, and fast. We had to reserve a spot just to test drive it. Base is like 28,355. Tehn goes up to like 33k. A few things i didnt like about it wer its styling. But more importantly, the tail lights. So darn ricey, i would get some jdm tails in a heart beat if there were some. Lots of trunk space too. I like the Yokohama Advans they got on them, 235/45ZR17. Since I knowyou all are lazy, and so am i, to search for it, i wil go ahead and write the specs n e way.

For some odd reason, it doesnt come equipped with a boost meter, yeah, you can order that, and a water temp, oil temp, and other gauges that they will fit into the center console when i asked about it. If you all think this is amazing, wait till the Ralliart edition comes out! Rod millen, HKS, and a number of other tuners already have stuff out for it.!

OR just look at the specs for the nissan 350z or the infiniti g35 coupe and tell me what you rather get for that kind of money? 287 / 280 HP NA and damn much more classier since everyone is commenting on the looks of the wing and the rear lights. At least with the 350 or the infiniti you could pull up at a business meeting still looking good, not lookin like a ricer. The base 350 is 27k as we all know, the G35 sedan if you want 4 -door is $28-35 I believe, and the sports coupe is $29 - 37 I believe, depending on options. Anyway you go, the BASE 350 or G35 would be better performing and LOOKING and you would save some $

Stupid ****SUBISHI........

Again just my view point, dont hate me. :ylsuper

saying you'll save on the 350 over the evo is a moot point, 1-2K before mark up is negligible. all the Z's here have a market adjustment(read mark up) of about 7 grand to 10 grand. comparing them though is apples to oranges.

if you don't want to look like a 'ricer' then don't get your evo with the evo wing, just get the OZ rally wing (the evo wing is an option)

and the tail lights are like that everywhere, not just the US. Evo 7 lamps will fit though so you could order those.

personally, although i think the G35 is the best looking car since the FD rx-7 i'd still rather have an evo. buy just a intake/exhaust and you'd be in the 12's, and that's A-ok with me.

I just love the look of rally cars (EVO + STi = :drooling)...

I'd love to have a 350 or a G35, but I'm sorry, I'd take the EVO in a heartbeat. AWD, true sports vehicle (yes I know 350s are sports, etc). When you roll up in that thing, it's a whole different beast though.:D

350s rock and evos are awesome too but I would just take my 240 and 25 grand if I had that kind of money, I could mod the 240 to my hearts content and still buy like a toyota or nissan truck, thats TWO cars for the price of one!

yes, I want a truck too... No flaming... :)
