Everytime I start my 96 Infiniti I30 I have to turn on the radio and reprogram all my preset stations. I even went out and bought another used radio (Bose Model 2083D) and its doing the same thing. Its odd but my first radio's display never worked and I'd get an error on the CD player and it would cut out and the used one I bought did the exact same thing. But I did fix them of that problem, I read online that it was just a couple of resistors needed resoldering, now all I need to do is fix this other little problem.

The memory for the radio has it's own fuse. Check the cig lighter fuse and/or the interior light fuse. If your lighter fuse is blown check inside of the socket(s) for any stuff. I find pennies and jewelry inside of customers cars lighter sockets all the time.

I think the memory wire is connected to a ignition source as opposed to a constant 12volt source.

OK, there's power getting to the radio as soon as I turn on ignition because the CD spits out the disk and then pulls it back in after 10 sec, but that dosen't tell me anything and there's not one fuse blown but!! the clock dosen't work and I can't find any thing wrong with it. So if I fix my clock I'll probably fix my radio also. I think I'm going to need some help here guys (and gals if any).

Memory is almost always combined with another circuit like your clock. Yes, if you fix your clock you will most likely fix your radio problem. Are you sure you checked all the fuses? There is a fuse box in the car and one under the hood. Check them both. I'll do some checking and see if I can track down the fuse location for you.

Well now I took my clock and inspected it a little closer and it looks like a bulb blew or something that looks like a bulb with a tip blew scorching the front face, almost like a short because there's no 12V battery power going to it or to the radio. So I rechecked every fuse very closely and I still can't find a problem, so I might just find a hot 12v bat. wire under the dash and splice into it, do you think this is a good idea, I have lots of experience with electrical but not with cars but their similar. Ihad a look at your site qusiguy looks like you really turn out some nice systems, keep up the good work.

Check the wiring diagram in the FSM if you have one. If not maybe someone can post the page you need.

Well I found the problem with the help of the FSM, it was fuse # 40 I checked it before twice but it was very difficult to see that it was faulty, but when I knew exactly what fuse I was looking for made it very easy I just replaced it with a new one. I'd like to thank everyone for helping me out, I couldn't have done it on my own.
