i have a 33 GTS that has been fine for 3 years now it has decided to cut out and stop!! it will restart run for a mile or two then cut out and start run for a split second then stop and it will do that all night i tried a quick spray of wd40 on all the plugs i could get too with no luck then after picking up a few tools sprayed the plugs on the coil packs it started and ran got me home! the next day after work it started on the button great thought i would run it around my village to stay close to home after about 10 mins got home but while parking it tried to cut out again revs died to almost stall then picked up. If i try to raise the revs slowly it seems to run a bit lumpy guys i know have mentioned throttle postion switch, coilpacks plug gaps etc any help would be great. Thanks.

I would check the TPS, the Crank and cam position sensors as well. Also, check the timing.

Hi Kenny,

How would i check these items ? ohms readings, voltages or what? Regards Nick.

For the sensors, it would be voltages. It would be extremely helpful if you had a FSM for the car so you can cross reference the voltages you're getting with the factory specified voltages.

played with it again today starts on the button free revs while sat on the drive as soon as i drive it up the road and put it under load it will miss fire and cut out! It will start up eventually and if i keep the revs right up it will limp home (only from about 200 yards) once back on the drive it will free rev but if i pick up the revs to about 1500 and back off the revs drop to about 200 it will nearly cut out then the revs will creep back to 750 and it will tick over. any thoughts?
