I have a 2006 Altima that just as of today doesnt want to start. I troubleshooted and came to the conclusion (by checking each one individually) that none of the 4 spark plugs are producing a spark. which leads me to my next point. if everythings turning over n working what would cause all 4 not to produce a spark. Theres a little black box on the side of the throttlebody (a relay box?) that is making a high pitched humm. does anyone know what this is and what if any sensors are connected to it. I opened the throttle body manually a couple times to ensure it wasnt stuck and it started for a brief min then died. so any help/info would be greatly appreciated thanks and sorry for the book but i tried to fit everything ive found up to this point.

1) Get a service manual and follow the trouble shooting steps, it will be much more helpful to you in the long run.2) Try posting in the Nissan Mechanical Help forum, there doesn't seem to be a a whole lot of technical knowledge in the Altima forums.3) Start diagnosing each component prior to the plugs... Check your grounds first, then trace backwards until you find out where you aren't getting voltage. Distributor? Are the plug wires good? Are the plug wires in the correct sequence? Is your battery good? Your alternator? Your starter? .... ad nauseum

there are a few things that could cause the spark plugs to not fire. if it is the distributer it may be cracked and you'd have to take it out and inspect it(is there a distributer on that car? i would think its distributerless). another source of all the plugs not firing could be a bad ignition coil or coil circuit. if you want to check the coil(some of it) take a volt meter or test light and see if there is 12v to the ign. coil (cranking). if it's 0v or no light you have a short somewhere. you can take a gamble and replace the coil though and see if it works. but yes, get a service manual if you want to fix your own problems otherwise ur lost and try to check obvious things
