hey ive got a 92' 240sx w\ 92k on the odom, this is not a miss print. i recently seafoamed it, got new plugs and wires, etc... Its been running like new. its been awesome. well as a reward to the car i disconnected the battery and Gunked the entire engine compartment with 2 cans of Gunk and scrubbed it down with a tooth brush and then heavily rinsed it with water. and i mean heavily rinsed it! then i wrapped all the wires in new yellow wire loom. HERES THE PROBLEM... i let it dry and then replaced the battery. now the engine is stalling and or really shaky when im starting off from first gear, also when using the clutch and shifting, and also when i step on the pedal it shakes a little and has a delay before the speed kicks in. now besides dowsing the engine with water, when i was putting on the loom i wiggled an injector wire and heard a little crack. now what do you think is the problem? is there water in the engine from my rinsing it or did i crack the injector wire. as a note, i once had a bad spark plug and drove with it and it wasnt as bad as the car is now so i dont think it was the wire, it feel soft and flexible i think the crack came from the black tube that is around the two wires. please any ideas? water in the engine? what do i do? will seafoam dry the engine? thanks for your time! OH i have a race on the 16th so i really need to get this car running soon!

If it was just water in the engine, I would think it would have dried out, or gotten blown out pretty quickly once it got running. I think your guess about the injector sound more likely.

make sure none of those new plugs are backing out. you can pull em out to and look at the ends and see what might be going on.

after washing my engine i noticed my engine would have trouble accelerating after 3500 rpms... anyway i found the problem. water got into the spark plug holes because i would stop and pull the plugs and found condensation on the plugs. i left the hole open and let it dry out. For some reason it seemed like there was never ending water because it would seem to be dry and then i would go and more water came from no where. anyway theres no more water and everything is fine now. You might want to put a blow dry in there or something to evaporate the water. I would have thought the heat from the engine would have evaporated but it took quite some time. Might want to check it out.

If the spark plug was bad it will shake but you'll notice considerably less power. Condensation will eventually come out the exhaust. I've heard this happen to the 240 when people wash the engines and get better after awhile. Although the person I bought mine off of had cleaned the engine and put some kind of engine cleaner in the motor and now it seems to have a blown head gasket because the antifreez is mixing with the oil. but I got for 500 dollers so I'm going to rebuild the engine. Try unpluging that fuel injector while it's running and see if the engine changes if it stays the same then that theres your problem but if it changes drasticly lik wants to cut off then it's gotta be something else. Also your can check all your electrical conections in the ignition plugs wires cap rotor anything electrical if it's still wet or rusty from the water then that would make it run funny to.

Thank you very much. ill try all these things. i idled the car for an hour today and it seems to be a bit better now but still shakes every 10 minutes or so. i think something is wet and not likely an injector problem but ill check that too. thanks again!
