Hey, I just got done changing a head gasket and timing chains and now the car runs like its on two or three cylinders. It shakes violently and dies unless I give it gas.

The motor has the hot cam swap done on it. When I installed the cams the motor was at TDC and the cam lobes were apposing each other like this: \.../ so it would be on the compression stroke. Then I installed the distributor and it lined up perfectly. (motor has brand new plugs)

I fired it up and it was running really rough so i went back a gear tooth on the distributor and it wouldn't even start. So I went forward a tooth to get it back to where it was, then went forward one more tooth. It started and ran a little bit better but still shook like crazy and died.

I am going to get new cap, rotor and wires. I am also going to check the fuel injectors and make sure they are working ( they should cuz they worked when I took them out). I am also going to try going forward one more tooth and see what happens.

Any other ideas?

Thanks, I appreciate any help.
