I just finished installing a car stereo on my 350z. Everything seemed to be in working order until I started my car. The MIL light came on, so I did the whole petal thing to pull codes from the ecm. I counted the blinks and code 0603 came up which is the code for cylinder 6 misfire. I have no idea what I could have done to cause this. I have a 4 ga. power cable running right by the ecm, so I pulled that away thinking it could have been causing interference with the ecm. I have the 4 ga. cable running from the battery along with the main harness entering the car. The only other time I was working near the ecm was when I was running the speaker cable thought the passenger door. I'm almost positive that I didn't interfere with any wires around there but since this code popped up I'm second guessing myself. I don't know if pulling the codes and turning off the car will reset the ecm for something as serious as a misfire. I just want that check engine light to go away.

Please Help!!

What I usually like to do is move the coil to a different cylinder and the plug to a different cylinder. So move the #6 coil to cyl #4 and move the #6 plug to cyl #2. If the misfire moves you found your problem. From there if you still have the #6 misfire disconnect all the power from all the stereo wires (that you installed). The CAN sys. is sensitive as are many other things. If you still have a problem, you may want to retrace your steps and inspect all the factory harness. If your still coming up with bubkiss, you may have a bad injector. Goodluck. Oh! and if the injector is still working and you still have a misfire..... Dumping gas into a catalytic converter that close to the engine is one of the most efficient ways I know of to ruin it's ability as a smog device. Fix that miss. ASAP dood
