I was hoping someone here might have an answer for me. i on my way to get some new tires and out of now where my check engine light pop on. so i got home checked all the fulids and they were fine. looked at all the vaccum lines i could think of they where fine. ...? it idles great and the temp is the same, it sounds fine, so what gives. my brother has a 96 Acura integra and his light comes on every so many miles even if the car is fine and he has a switch under his dash that resets it. i found noting of the sort on my 240. if anyone has an answer or some advise it would be great, this is very confusing.

oh yeah it has 117704 mi if that helps

your o2 sensor coulda sent a bad reading. just reset the computer. i'm pretty sure the reset button itself is on the computer, which in in the kick panel for the passenger. so if you sit in the passenger seat, lean into the foot-well, and look to the right. its behind that panel.

thats another way. if you leave that unhooked for a while, it might reset the computer. it sometimes does, sometimes doesn't. your welcome by the way

CEL light doesn't just come on "out of nowhere".

It's there for a reason - Go to a shop and get a diagnostic done.

Just pull out your O2 sensor, and shake it by your ear like a light bulb. That way you can hear if the ceramic stuff inside is broken.
