My engine ka24e will idle just fine sounds smooth but like if i accelerate the truck it will go but then studder and then go again. its does this in all other gears all the way up.. it doesnt do it when i floor it down the road and rip through the gears though.. my concern was first a dirty fuel filter but i replaced it and it wasnt.. plugs and wires are new.. so i dont know where to look at next.. any suggestions..?? i do have a leaky muffler but i doubt thats the issue..

maybe check your TPS, vacuum lines, and EGR valve.

Are you sure you have good flow on the catalytic converter? I have seen cases where a clogged catalyst will cause poor low end engine response. As the previous poster suggested, check and recheck vaccuum lines, also, you mentioned new wires and plugs, correct place and order, correct spark plug gap? Did you have the problem previous to changing them, or is this new since the change? Last thing, be sure you didn't move the distributor, with the wiring changes you made, have your timing checked.

Sounds like a sensor issue. You should go and get the computer scanned and that will give a more definitive solution to your problem. My thoughts are the Throttle Position Sensor(TPS) is cooked but a quick scan will confirm this.

Causes of stuttering during acceleration:

1) Mass air flow sensor circuit - Engine speed will not rise more than 2,400 rpm due to the fuel cut.

2) Throttle position sensor circuit - Throttle position will be determined based on the injected fuel amount and the engine speed. Therefore, acceleration will be poor. When engine is idling = Normal engine sounds and smooth operation. When accelerating = Poor acceleration, engine hesitation.
