Just did a 100 mile airport run this morning in my wife's 2000 FY33 Q45.

Very nice and quick car, a blast to drive, carved traffic well and cruised at 80 mph effortlessly because I held back. No one noticed the speed. Very comfortable and quiet. What's not to like?

Couldn't have done it a coupe. Not enough room.

Im going to replace my 5 with a 1. i'll have the only offcial Q41 then.

I see both points but bottom line, It is a Q, and thats all that matters.

My thing is it's not like "33" owners decided to call the car a Q45, Infiniti/Nissan did. Anyone who thinks it was/is wrong should contact their national Customer Service. Maybe they'll do a recall and re-badge them??

Let's let this puppy end.

So let's say that the Q is the Highest Level of car of Nissan\Infiniti of North America.

Why did they badge the Qx4 a Q?

I think the Qx56 is worthy of a Q in it's name.

But the Qx4....Come ON

Maybe "O" for off-road or "R" for rebadge.

I like it but who thinks it is worthy of being a Q?

At that time, there was no G35 or M45 to keep the unique banner flying - the Q was the luxury model (yeah, I know about the I30 ...!).

I think this was supposed to mean "like a Q in quality and luxury, but a 4 wheel drive" - the "X4" being the back half of "4X4"!

I considered replacing the ignition switch on my truck with a spare Q one so that I could have the mega key for the truck too... which led to the thought of rebadging it as a T24 (or maybe H24 for hardbody?)

I once saw a mid-80's Toyota (Corrola?)wagon with chrome wire wheels, a very glossy metallic blue paint job, dark tint and all gold Lexus badging...

That's enough to scare anyone out of rebadging.

just my 2 cents, most people don't even know about the Q whether it's a 1990 all the way to a 2005, Our duty as supporters of this site and to ours Q's are to represent them, in a way that will benefit us all, mainly Nissan?Infiniti as the G35 and the 350z does... I have been an avid supporter of the Q45 ever since I got mine back in Nov 1998, we are all members of the forum to learn and help each other and not to diss anyones car, cuz believe it or not the members here will always be more than willing to help or share with any info you may have concerning your "Q" hence Team Q open to all Q45 owners wanting to send the message to the import scene that we have the Best Bang for the Buck. Our Q's are unique and that's what seperates us from the other LUXO cruiser But it's the fact that we have a Q, even with the new Q, alot of people still dont Know, SO let's represent.....United We Stand, Divided we Fall
