engine cuts out

today i got the cleanest 90 240sx i have ever seen it is perfect but only one little thing no speedooo and at 4000 rpms in 5th it hits some kinda cut off and will not let me acc till rpms drop i think its the speed sensor i just want some input plez help let me know what u think......

Not the speed sensor. Check for codes, sounds like a loop issue to me.

i guess i could get that checked at like an auto zone i guess loop what that be in the g cluster

no loop in the AFR calculation. IE bad sensor, vacuum leak, loose connection, or even general maintenance items.

no autozone. they can only test obd2 system's. yours is obd1.

You can check your own codes in diag mode. Ultimate sticky, Factory service manual 91-94 and go to the EC section.

I dont know n e thing anout Ka i had one in my other 240 for three days b 4 i pulled it out for a sr so a lot of this is over my head guys :confused:

the ecu has built in rev limiters for 4th and 5th gear. The sensors are not needed on the trans. Just disconnect them. If its more of a studder than a rev limit I would check for boost leaks. Also what happened to me is I got a maf from eBay and came with an air filter. To make the filter fit the z32 maf they removed one of the screens.....bad idea. It created turbulence and messed with the maf readings. And gave me a "rev limit " kind of issue. Also make sure the intake is long enough . Apexi, and jwt make pretty good air filters to help aid in turbulence prevention. Hope I can help.
