I am going to be moving to Las vegas this summer and was wondering how tough are the smog checks....will I need to take my CAI off or not is the real question? So all of you Las Vegas or Nevada guys please chime in

Trust me when I say that no where is tougher on emissions control than California!

Good luck with the move when it comes up. You're moving to possibly the only place in the west that's hotter than the IE.

Yes, if you are good in CA, you can move anywhere and be safe.

Vegas does smog checks but not at the DMV.

My little bro bought a '91 3000GT that had trouble passing emissions. He gave the guy doing the test a few bucks and he fiddled with the car till it would pass...

I looked it up...if you in Clark County and Washoe County you must have your vehicle smogged

None of the CIA's are Carb approved in Kalifornia and yes they do have a Visual part of the test in some parts of Navada.Just remove it to be safe.

I called a couple of the the places that do the test and they said a CAI would not be an issue.....all they do is run a OBDII test......

Like I said earlier, my bro's 3000GT had a LOT of work done on it and he sat there running the test and fiddling with stuff until it passed. That is one benefit of not testing at state run facilities...
