Hi all!

It's been a while since I posted. My '84 is running quietly post-Weber conversion, and I want to thank you all for your help. While it's running well, i'm experiencing some strange electrical issues and I was hoping for a little input from the experts.

Like I said, everything is fine, though it's a hard start in the mornings, but I can't seem to keep many of the accessories plugged in without severe battery loss overnight. If I keep the fuse for the wipers or the radio (and I assume a few other things) plugged in overnight, my battery is dead by morning. One other piece of info that might help: i still can't get the left turn signal to work, even though I've changed all the bulbs. The right will blink, but the left just stays on when engaged (i've also cleaned the switches behind the steering wheel). I just want to listen to the radio and clear the damn rain off my wind shield!

Thank you!

My wiper motor was draining the battery. I haven't had time to look for another. I just unhooked the power wire at the motor and put in a toggle switch in the dash. I just flip it on whenever I need to clear the window then turn it back off. I know it's not the proper fix but it works for me and no more dead battery in the mornings. As for the blinker, do both the front and back stay on?
It's an indication that one of them is shot/not getting contact. I guess you could just manually blink it until you figure it out.

I'll look into the wiper motor, though I'm no electrician. It also happens with the radio fuse plugged, so maybe it's something else, or a couple different things.

Both blinkers stay on while the switch is engaged, and I have been blinking manually, it just seems unsafe while I'm trying to shift and navigate city traffic.

I feel your pain bro, these datsuns are finikey about grounds. Be sure to check them on the side that's not working, sounds like a grounding fault on that one(the blinker). As for the wiper, I'll find another motor one of these days and try it then post back here with the results. Not sure it's the motor itself, could be a relay or something else. I just know it drove me batsh!t for a few months before I nailed it down to that. I replaced the alt 3X, the starter 2X and the battery 3X, not to mention ripping the wiring all to hell looking for a short. Just hang in there and you'll figure it out. :bigthumb:
