Im sick of this BS. For months now i am having problems with my electrical systems. the volt meter on my escort shows low voltage when i turns on. the highest i have seen it go up to is 13.3 volts. usually around 12-12.9 range. we all know this should be at above 14 volts (14.2 - 14.5), i even went out and bought an BRAND NEW BATTERY Optima Yellowtop. Can anyone here tell me when there volt meter reads?? im about to raise a s*** storm with the dealership.

You're freaking out that the battery voltage is where it's supposed to be? Cars run on a 12V circuit...

And is this for a Ford Escort?

Same issue with battery. Had it boosted 4 times in 5 months of ownership.

Took it twice to dealer to have battery checked ... both times was told battery / alternator r fine.

Willl buy same battery as yours if it checks out fine /

From what I hear, the Optima's are no longer the same quality as they used to be, due to a change of ownership. You might want to look at different brands if you're looking for a high quality battery

usually the charging system runs around 13 - 13.9 and will drop into the 12's momentarily if there is a load. When the vehicles first starts mostly in the morning you'll see the highest voltages usually around 14.5ish but once the voltage regulator in the alternator starts doing it's thing you'll see it taper into the 13's... do you have any issues with dead batteries to say you have electrical charging system problems? also the escort radar has a voltmeter but who's to say its calibrated and giving reputable, repeatable readings? I would say to also recheck your readings with a good digital multimeter or voltmeter.

ya.. the meter on the passport is accurate... alreadytested it. i suspect its all due to a poor qulity ground somewhere. the problem is car companys try to spend the least amount of money on parts like grounding wires. if they actually gave a sh1t they whould come factory with nice 4 gauge wires. but no they do the bare minimum to get the car to the dealer. what can you do....
