I can`t seem to see the photos Float!
Have you seen the new exhaust housings that BW had at SEMA with the integrated quick spool valve?
I suddenly got more interested in these turbo`s.

I changed the links like 4 times, so you might have to clear your history to view them. Here is the manifold back from the ceramic coating. It looks goood!!!

I've heard about the new BW turbo's, but I couldn't find anything about them. I was kinda pissed, I bought that turbo about 4 days before SEMA and my friend sent me some pictures of it. My understanding is it's a VGT, but maybe it's not that complicated? Any info you have would be welcome, as I can't find anything.

If you mean VNT as I am used to call the variable geometry housings it's not the same.

Damnit, they did it, LOL! I came up with something like this a few years ago. I tried to have a local machine shop modify a housing I already had to work like this, but he wasn't able to make it work. He said he was impressed with the idea, but that he thought the only way to make it work would be to have it cast that way. I talked to a local foundry about doing it, but the capital I would need upfront to make the castings was HUGE, so I gave up on it.

I'm REALLY hoping this is going to be backwards compatible and those of us with the EFR turbo's will be able to just update the turbine housings.

I hope so, LOL! I'm going to be disappointed if it won't do rolling burnout in 5th gear with the 245 tires I have on it.

It shouldn't do rolling burnouts unless you're driving with excessive camber, tyre stretch and old tyres :)

This S13 have about 460 WHP and 225 street tyres

Go ahead, dash my dream down the drain, LOL! Really, as long as it's reliable, I'll be happy.

Wow, I knew it was big, but I didn't realize just how big until now. I guess it's time to take the cut-off wheel to your hood, lol.

No, it's been at a standstill for a while. I either have time or money. Never both at the same time, LOL.

Daym!!! Forgive my ignorance but I have been playing with LS's and SBC's way too much in recent years and have ignored the progression of turbo technology. I have heard a buzz about these turbos but do not understand what they are or how they work compared to a traditional turbo. Care to give a brief rundown?

I just realized I never updated this! This turbo did decently well on my CA18 given it's size. I was hitting positive boost pressure (a couple of psi) by 3500rpm, and full spool by 4K. I got it up to 17psi on the dyno and made 372hp. The engine failed again, so I never got to take it past that. I have the engine failure issue sorted out now (crossthreaded helicoil on the #4 cylinder kept damaging the spark plug on that cylinder). Engine has been rebuilt and was waiting for break in to dyno again, but someone side-swiped the car while it was parked on the street, so now it's not drive able. Engine is fine. So once insurance is all sorted out, I'll have to pick up another chassis and get it swapped over.
