Yes i have searched, but i got something new.

I am having a hell of a time fixing my power loss above 5500rpm. I have done everything imaginable except swap the ECU. So i pull off the cover and i relize my ECU # is 72. I searched my *** off and could not find any info regarding that ECU.

I have sourced a 92 in town will it work? What is the 72 and 92 originally for.

God i make too many threads so help me one more time!

there's auto and manual ones. Theres a couple of additional pins difference but they are interchangeable if you are running a manual.

If you can get another ECU for cheap, then fine, give it a go. But it's more likely a maxed out or inappropriate AFM.

I don't think anyone has ever documented exactly which is which. I've heard of more than just 72 and 92 stamped ECUs for CA18 though.

Most importantly (unconfirmed):

Standard eprom for the manual Japanese domestic model MEC-D016B ( 27C128, 28 pins)

Standard eprom for the automatic Japanese domestic model MEC-D015 ( 27C128, 28 pins)

Thanks but my car came with the CA from factory so i swapped out an exact MAF for it and nothing changed. To be clear ive done:

plugscoilsMAFWater temp sensorChecked for boost leaks a 1000 times overChecked timing and checked belt location in regards to the cam gearsVerified proper fuel pressureAttempted to check the TPS but i couldn't get any values (probably did it wrong)

I am not throwing any codes what so ever, its running rich as hell. I have an o2 waiting to go in. So the only thing left is to try a new ECU. So i will swap in the 92 and see what happens. Thanks again
