Hey Friends, when installing a new ECT sensor, the manual calls out the copper gasket and RTV silicone but it doesn't specify where to put the silicone exactly. I could imagine the silicone interfering with the copper seal. I could also imagine the silicone getting into the cooling system. Anybody know? Thanks.

I've never seen anything about RTV on the sensor, where in the FSM did you find that? Personally I use teflon tape. Just make sure to wrap it anti-rotation and keep it off the last couple of threads.

NM, I found it (just never noticed it before). I'd say use it the same as teflon, keep it off the last few threads. Guys use pipe thread sealer too, and that works fine as well. The sensor has an external ground, so there are no worries about the threads losing contact with the block like there are with 1-wire sensors.
