Sorry i know this question has been ask a few times but i just wanted to be clear and all so i'll understand... I've looked around here about e pistons going into de's. but nothing much about if it will straight bolt in? any modifications that need to be done to the block other then replacing the gaskets? thanks in advance

if you use the oem dished pistons, then they drop right in.

if you use the nissan motorsports flattop pistons, then you will need to mill them down to reduce the compression ratio. otherwise, you'll be trying to run an 11.6:1 compression ratio.

sorry but i thought putting E pistons into a DE woulkd get you 11:1 pistons anyways right? So I don't think it would be much different running 11.6:1. Just a few more octane right?

your much more prone to detonate by running 11.6:1 compression. the gains over 11.1:1 is so minimal, that it's not worth the risk, or the extra money you'll spend using octane booster or high octane gasoline.

I'm about to rebuild my engine and was considering this mod, but I'm still not sure if running 93 octane will be enough to prevent knock with 11:1 compression. Perhaps a adjustabe fuel pressure regulator? Anyone know???

93 octane is enough. you may have to retard your timing.

Okay time for the real question...Has anyone ever dyno tested their car with stock pistons then with sohc pistons? I am curious as to actually how much horsepower to expect from this swap!

iirc, you'll gain a 4-5% increase in power for every point in compression that you go up.
