have any of you guys put a GPS/DVD player on the altima coupe? would you mind put some pix ups?i didnt get the gps on the altima coupe because i felt like it was ridiculous to have a screen there JUST for gps and not be able to play DVDs in it. so i was thinking to get an after market one, but idk how it would look since you need to take the whole radio off. i dont want it to look weird.

If you get the factory trim plate it will look just like a factory install. Most in-dash DVD players in the car only work when the car is parked/e-brake is on. Before you buy, if this is going to affect you, do some research and find the ones that can be hacked, such as the Pioneer AVIC series.

I have the F700BT from Pioneer, it's decent after the hacks but there is better out there...

. . .uhm. . .doesnt really look good.also i heard that the ones from manufactory only works parked with the E break on, but all you gotta do is actually disinstall one cable, and you will be able to play it while driving.

This is mine. For mine it was just one wire that I had to ground to let it watch DVD's while driving

Maybe I'm blind, but I didn't see any part numbers or vendors listed in the FAQ. If you know where it is, why don't you post it here? In the time it took you to write your original post, you could have just put up a link.

Just for you And no, this took in relative terms, much longer than the time it took me to ask you to look in the FAQ. In case you still can't find it with the link, it's the underlined word "this". Maybe you were just keeping your eye out for a long string of characters and numbers beginning with "http"

At the moment... nothing in terms of hiding it, but my head unit offers a 4 digit security code... if the battery is unplugged, or the deck is pulled out, then in order for the unit to function again... you have to input the code.

What I've seen in the past was that somebody used a older factory double DIN Nissan unit, strip it of its front plate, and use that as a "cover" for the aftermarket head unit. Looked pretty prime, but it'd be quite a bit of work for a budget defense. The best way is probably to get a good alarm for your car!

pager alarm... worked great for me in the past... after my last incident, for some strange reason, no one wants to break into my car anymore... must have been those hollow points

I've done a few things that have helped. Get aging tints as dark as you can get away with ,getting a sun blocker for your front winsheild and a good alarm like python or clifford,
