Car: my girlfriend, my project car, and partying

Post

Ok, the other day i was at this "tuner" shop around where i live b/c my friend wanted to pick up some crap. Anyway, i usually dont go around that place because the guys that work there think they are "all knowing" about everything, basically a bunch of douche bags. Well, i go in just looking around alittle while my friend gets whatever, anyway, to kill time i try to make small talk with the guy behind the desk and ask him about his coupe parked out front. He begins to talk about how his car is all badass with it SR this and that, and then i bring up the fact that i plan on getting a CA for my car. He then begins to laugh and says "why would you buy that piece of crap that things like 15 years old". Anyway, so i mention to him how the CA is not a bad motor at all with alittle work it is just as good, then i mention that the CA has an Iron block oppose to the SR's Aluminum block. Anyway, to make a long post short he then tells me, "whatever man, SR's have an Iron block too". What a douche. I hate ignorant FU*Ks that think they know everything. I mean damn, why do people have to be b*tches about crap like that?

I've only met ONE guy, who recognized my motor when I popped the hood. He used to live in Japan. Everyone else doesn't recognize it and when I tell them it's a CA, they usually look at me stupid. I've never had anybody talk **** on it, but I never let anybody look under my hood until after i've raced them (and they've lost) so they really haven't ever been in a position to talk ****.

hrmm i think it doesnt really matter what motor, as long as the person owning the motor knows the potential(really knows their potential, not just stuff like OH it has a iron block so that means its stronger).

I was at a meet a few months back and some people asked me to show them my ca. So this random kid comes pullin in with a sil80 conversion stock ka, comes up to my car and ask what the motor is. I say its a ca and hes like oh that **** its Sohc and walks away. Yeah so i just stood there for a second and basically felt really sorry for him.

we get that all the time. everyone thinks the sr is the almighty s13 chassis engine and the ca18 is a piece of junk.

than a friend of mine with a ka-t is always taunting me about how much displacement I have.

when will the hate stop, i am 1 of like 3 people in alberta who has swapped a ca in and everyone is like, why did you do that when you could have bought an sr20 for $500 more. when I was paying for my engine my dad was trying to convince me to buy an sr20 to cause it is faster. Than he was like "its your money, and walked away"

only reason why I would want an sr20 is for the resale value so I can import an genuine silvia from japan.

y does every1 get so butt hurt when some1 ****talks about the CA, just let stupid ppl be, theres nuthing you can do to help them, other than take em out back and put em outa thier misery. every1 here knows most ppl dont know jack about the CA, and they swear the SR is great. let them have thier moment, then if you can, shut em up at the track, or just walk away. these threads are getting annoying. my .02

I picked my girlfriend up from main campus today and some dude pulled his camera phone out and he was like "do you mind if I take some video of you taking off when you leave" I was like "whatever" and he said "this thing is so nice, does it have an sr20?"and I said "no its a CA." and I left (dumped the clutch and took it sideways for his entertainment... oh yeah, and my own.)

I was simply amused when I was at a performance parts store the other day and the guy saw me walk up to the counter after locking up the car. He says "bleh, another Sileighty. So, rice boy. What SR20 JDM parts are you gonna need today?" [/surlyness]

I kinda stopped in my tracks and looked at the tard and then started to laugh whole-heartedly at the fool, then started to walk away and light a smoke. He came out and asked me for a light while I told him his shop wasnt getting my business anymore and then left with him staring at me very puzzled-like.

I dont deal with those jerks anymore. You just have to laugh at their ignorance and stupidity and leave them confused. (note: this does not apply while on the 'Net. Spread pain and dissonance wherever you go through it's nether regoins...)

well, you can't really blame people. if you just look at the numbers, the sr would seem to be a much better engine 2.0 err not sure about the stock hp, and its newer. Heck, i have a ca and i dont even know why its said to be 'better'. Oh well, got mine for 400 and currently changing piston rings and all gaskets. =]

eh, the motor was out for so long i started to lose interest.then i got it back when i bid on a 28RSthen it was lost again when dude disappeared w/ my $780 and ebay basically did nothing about it. (yay for getting a whopping $175 back...)then when Sircnay ****ed us over on the Piloti Shoe group buy, i kinda got real tired of the internet and forumsbut the motor is built (finally, but w/ the same old GTiR w/ 1/4cm of shaft play) and just about ready to drop in. I was just gonna make a post when i got everything done/together and driving.but i still need an intercooler (looks like an XS power kit has my name on it since my sert-four FMIC idea seems to be falling thru)and i still need to get my ecu chipped for the 450cc injectors, but hopefully i'll be back to boosting on the right side in the near future...
