I'm sure iPhones are cool I know they have more apps just a crappy network. Although it can't beat the camera and running multiple apps or come with turn by turn navigation.

Advanced Task Killer is good and will stop apps from running in the backround while the phone is on standby to avoid your battery from running out faster. Mabilo Ringtones is a great app to get all the FREE ringtones you want. Shazam is a great music ID app. The greatest thing about the ones I mentioned is that they are ALL FREE. Go to Market, Apps, All applications and then Top Free and the list is EXTREMELY LLLLOOOONNNNNGGGG. I bought one for me and one for my wife a few weeks ago. These phones are the SIHT. Like 5 of my friends and 3 of my family members said they were going to close their account with AT&T and open one with Verizon just to get this phone. So far those 5 friends and 2 of my family members have done it. Funniest part is they all had iphones. I asked them where they were and they said they threw them out . iphones meet your match .

yea I had the Storm when i was with verizon then my parents get this great idea to switch to at&t's crap network just for an iphone that doesn't even compare to the Droid. Half the time i get no service in my own house.

I have both VZW Motorola Droid and AT&T iPhone 3GS in my house and I prefer my iPhone for daily use. Better battery life in my car, better Wi-Fi signal in my house, I can talk and use data at the SAME time (I do this 10 times a day).. VZW and AT&T both have great 3G service in my area. I much prefer being able to slap my sim in any phone I feel like useing ATM. While the Android OS has great potential it's no were near as smooth, refined, and user friendly as OSX!

LOL My AT&T iPhone bill is cheaper then my VZW Bill (both unlimited data and text), PRAY you don't want to leave VZW since they jacked up the E.T.F.'s to keep you/us locked in (If the service was so great not really needed)..

umm okay, first off i signed up before the EFT went into effect. and it went into effect due to people buying storms and making a profit after the $100 cancellation fee.... so as much as it is ridiculous, it is also somewhat understandable... but like I said I don't have it so I don't care.

Second, how much cheaper is it, $5 lol. I had AT&T and same plan with verizon is $15 cheaper for me a month, plus i get better service and faster speeds.... so even if it was more expensive than at&t, it's for a good reason.

I did the speed test with my friend who has a 3GS, I got better speeds than him, so there's no question VZW's network is better/faster. I had AT&T for a long time, and I never got service in elevators, train stations (underground), and even my own apartment. I live in NYC, no service here is unacceptable, AT&T = fail

My friend showed me an app that AT&T released to notify them if you get a dropped call or bad service in a certain area, lol no app like that needed for the droid. I was reading about AT&T always saying that they are upgrading their network, the only problem is that they are not at all http://www.att.com/Investor/Gr...9.pdf -"Their Q309 report shows that although they've consistently made more money on data since 2007 - because of this "iPhone" thing they have - they have also consistently spent less and less money on network upgrades quarter after quarter."

I'm pretty much lovin it, along with everyone else who has checked out my phone... still getting used to the touch screen as my previous phone was a curve.

I got that led light thingie, and i can't stop flashing it @ my girl to annoy her (i know, i know, total misuse of the led light's intent...)

lols i find it funny how although the whole iphone vs. droid debate was inevitable... i had an inkling of hope that it wouldn't be taken there... second post couldn't have come any sooner

Funny thing here. While I say the iPhone is a bit of hype (i-this i-that i-shmuck) and rip-off price tag (ooh touch screen - great so now I have finger prints all over the screen - pet peeve! haha) and anything else that comes out that might be better or equivalent will be quickly put down for any issues, I don't agree that AT&T isn't upgrading their service.

I work for a company that in turn works for AT&T (and Verizon, T-Mobile etc) which does exactly that, expand and improve their 3G network with people literally on the ground driving routes that do exactly that - collect and report on data/call coverage. In fact we have also have teams working hard in NY/NE to make sure you don't get dropped calls or other quality issues. Now I'll say this, it may not be the best process, it's slow, but it is improving.

As for Verizon, I say anything that can give the iPhone a run for the money (hell it's a frackin' overpriced phone because it's made by Apple and you're a slave to ATT if you want to use it unless you can unlock it) deserves some credit.

I'm an accountant, and numbers don't lie. If you have an increase in Data usage and you'd be stupid not to agree that the iPhone has brought a ton of new users to the AT&T network, taking up 3G bandwidth..., then spending less and less money each quarter to improve your network is never going to be good. Now money is being spent, network is being improved but when you have one number going up (data usage), meanwhile the network improvement number is going down when it should be parallel to the data usage number.... something's not right, and it shows frankly. Whatever is being done, is not enough.

Oh and I don't want to come off a VZW fanboy, I only have VZW for a month, and after years of frustration with AT&T, recently being really bad.... I just needed to vent.

I won't argue the whole iPhone vs. Droid though, both have pros and cons, it's a matter of personal choice. For example, I don't want to have a phone that ever 14 year old girl in this country owns.

Well I'm a lowly logistics manager type person so I won't argue with whatever facts and figures you have. I was merely pointing out that we have been busy this year, more so than last year improving and expanding ATT coverage. But yah I suppose someone's getting a litttle complacent with all that iPhone income? hehe.

Yeah if anything I don't like having stuff that everyone and their grandmother (or grandchild) owns, and overpriced "new" stuff (yea iPhone's 2 years old now but stay with me) like a new $500 video card or phone for that matter (which is impractical for me anyway).... which is why I won't let my family own a Honda..Accord and Civic ESPECIALLY boring (yes call me stupid I sometimes prefer 'different' over slightly better 'quality') and bought an Altima Coupe 3.5 instead of another boring I4 or even V6 Camry or Accord. Hah.

Toilet paper app would be amazing

I need to try out that advanced task killer thing because I get all awkward and ocd about closing a program (hitting the home key) but still thinking it's running. I can be browsing the web and then hit home, then when I hit browser again it will take me to that same page I was on. I want it to take me to the homepage, that's what it's there for. I feel like I'm just hiding the apps which bugs the hell out of me. I constantly have to go through the menu and settings to manually turn them off completely

Yeah the advanced task killer will fix that. I think the droid will keep up to 6 Apps running in the background. Certain programs like Pandora or the music player wont close out completely unless you kill the task.

Yup. Storm 2 is a whole new beast. It's just been overshadowed by the Droid.

I personally don't care about all the garbage apps the iPhone and Droid have, I care about functionallity, which the BB does better than anyone. Though I am envious of Droid screen...that thing is beautiful.

!!!I second this quote!!! its very true.. in my dept we have 4 analyst that have the Iphone and 1 that has the Droid.. Dont get me wrong, the Iphone is cool as $hi* and the droid does some amazing stuff but comparing them side by side and based on personal use and not some useless app, the BB storm 2 won hands down.. Neither the Iphone or Droid was compatible with our IM and email (including MMS) calendar service. I have a ton of meetings on a daily basis and its nice to have all my meetings on my phone and notify me 15min prior. The Iphone or Droid cant do that. So my BB storm 2 provides essintial function(s) that the other phones dont.

yes, the screen is amazing, i've already used my droid to watch a few movies during my down time... but bigger and brighter screen = more battery consumption. i suppose i can take the good with the bad.

I would've bought the storm 2, only i changed jobs to where i'm no longer required to be tied to outlook for work... hence, imho i didn't need the bb as much. personally,i just didn't see the benefit of keeping a "business" phone since i think that for everyday use, ie. not syncing to work-related email servers such as outlook or what have you, the bb may be a bit overkill. next viable option was to get an iphone but since the droid came out and i liked it after using it a few times, i decided to pick one up.

will a droid killer eventually emerge? of course, that's the paradox of new technology, once it's found out, it's not really that new anymore (if in fact if was even that new when it was "found out"). meh cest la vie, but for the time being, i'm gonna try to screw around with my phone as much as possible lols.
