Hi all, I recently purchased an 08 Pathfinder LE that has the intelligent key. On the driver's side door handle, the handle cover(?) is coming loose where the key button is. I can push it back on, but it keeps slowly coming back loose. Is this supposed to do this? When I look at parts diagrams, it shows a solid handle, not a handle with a painted cover on it separate. Anyone have any ideas? I might try to get some pictures to show what I'm talking about.

Shoot us a pic - I have a feeling I know what this is.

Our Frontier (same handle) has the base part, then an overlay. In our case, it's chrome. Yours may be body color. Pull it off completely and you'll be able to tell why it's coming loose.

I'd throw a little epoxy glue on the tabs, pop it back on, and call it good. :)

Yup, what you describe sounds like it, and mine is body colored. I'll get a pic tomorrow and attach it. Thanks!

Yep. Pry it off gently, put some good epoxy on a few of the contact points, clean the underlying handle with some alcohol, and stick it back on. Done! :)

I shall. I'm assuming that you did this with your handle? How did it turn out?

Mine are a little different - We had the black plastic handles, and I added the aftermarket chrome covers (which required a little supplemental adhesion). :)

I just guessed that yours were a similar issue.

Thought I would give a followup on this. I did pull it off yesterday and it appears that the rubber Intelligent Key button had gotten cockeyed which is what wouldn't let it fully go together. I got it realigned, and today put just a few tiny drops of super glue gel on it and pressed it together. Looks perfect now :)

The internet has gone to hell in a handbasket. In the beginning one could literally find just about anything that interested you. Since it’s been monetized it literally useless trying to find anything. I just want to see photos of 2015 Nissan Leaf Driver’s Door handle and Chrome trim so I can decide how to permanently reattach it.

If the chrome trim is popped loose, a couple dabs of Gray Death (Permatex Ultra Gray) will fix it up permanently. Just be careful to keep it away from the Door Request button.
