I am a fairly new owner of a 2008 Altima coupe. I've had my new baby for approximately 6 weeks and have already had to have the motor replaced on the driver's side seat. I have never reclined the seat fully until this weekend. Upon doing so, the seat lost all power and would not lock back into the upright position. I took it to the dealership and they told me that the motor was shot! Considering it's never been used, I wonder if I've been sold a lemon. They replaced the motor and the car was in the shop for half a day. I love my car, but now I'm freaked out that something else is going to go wrong with it.

so 2 seat motor in 6 weeks, damn.. well as for the rest of the car i think you will be alright, at least its only been a seat motor, ive never worked on a power seat before but id assume something is out of alignment and is burning up the motors,

well anywho thank god for warranties.

also welcome to nico

Glad I found this post because the exact same thing happened to my wife yesterday ... reclined the seat back all the down (while cleaning inside) and then lost power exactly like you described. The power to the seat bottom is still functional, though. I've got an appointment first thing tomorrow morning ... hopefully they will get me done in less than half a day.
