I heard rumours of Toyota making a RWD AE86 replacement for about 20 grand.

I read it somewhere on FA

i have seen a camaro try and drift, its not pretty :D

Austrailia has many big V8 RWD cars, and drifting is huge there. I talked to a person from australia on the subject and cars like the holden monaro (the new pontiac GTO) get put to shame by lighter, traditionally well balance japanese cars in drifting.

Im not baggin on domestic cars, if they work for drift, great, more worthy compitition. But for the most part drifting isnt just about having RWD and being able to break the wheels loose, you could do that in a ford econoline van, it will still suck *** at drifting.

Yeah, but watching an Econoline oversteer for style points would be fun to watch.

how's the G35/350Z at drifintg? I would image they aren't too great, so there's definately a need for a new breed of drifter cars, but.... for those cars to sell, you'd need teh general dumb public to buy them (ricers) cause a few thousand drifters isnt enough for several companies to put out a new car an keep them on the market, it just wouldn't work, the only thing i can think of is for companies to convert some cars to RWD, seeing as all the companies hav a sport compact in their lineup, i'm thinking a rwd celica might do nicely or a rwd civic hatch type car, but no rwd sentra, 4 doors seems odd on a drifter car

Thanks Tachyon, yours ain't too bad either :) gotta love white S14's

man, there are lots of 4dr drift cars. i dont think the sentra would look good doing it, but 4dr doesnt look bad. and the Z/G cant drift hardly at all. they have so much done suspension and traction control that it doesnt do it very well.

yeah you guys are on crack, the 350Z is great at drifting. There is a dude that shows up to DGtrials with one and he absolutly rocks that **** close to stock.

the 4 door toyota chaser and 4 door R34 skyline and 4 door cerfiro were all popular drift cars.

apparently the Chaser is supposed to be the Toyota Avalon, which happens to be FWD, we didn't get a turbo motor though...

the chaser is RWD and equiped with a turbo 2.5 liter inline 6 and has nothing in common with the avalon, unless they happen to share some miscilanious parts. Japan still gets cool cars we wont see unless they are given an excuse to release here.

nope, its still RWD.

we had the cressida (chaser) in the early 90's i belive, but of course it was axed in favor of a lame FWD boring-mobile.
