ok peoples i attempted to install my HS header last week and had trouble gettin the egr bolt to break loose on the stock header (ive posted on this already) but anyway i broke that loose a few days ago. But now i cannot get the bottom hook up bolt to come loose (belive it the AIV hookup) i work at jiffy lube so i was able to get under the car easly and try and get it off. I tried open end wrenchs, adjustable wrenches, locking pliers, heavy dudy monky wrench, and nothing but scrapping away at the nut. So this weekend i just plan on takin it a to a muffler shop and have them break it free for me. Anylast minute suggestions??

just go to the local auto store and tell them you need some spray to break bolts loose. They'll know what you want.

At my friend's shop, they always heat the bolt with a torch and it always easy for them to unscrew it. You can try that. If you break it, take a sharp pointed chissel and pound the bolt counterclockwise to remove the stud...get it? Just hope you snape the bolt in half.

yeh thanks for all your help guys, but i think im a just take it to the muffler shop. i mean i gunked the bolt in wd40 and took like almost 10 pound monkey wrench to it, and wouldnt even budge. i just hate running into other problems when i attempt an install on my 240.

the mexican speed wrench (monkey wrench) is not a tool for cars!

EVER!

Now, that said, you can safely heat the bolt as there is no sensor attached. the EGR sensor is on the other end of the tube.

I believe the size of the bolt is 17 or 19mm. Try an open ended wrench, or a 1/2 ratchet (ratchet with an open ended attachment).

Dude, you spray PB on there, and the bolt will want to come off on it's on. That stuff is like magic ferry dust for mechanics.

A helmet might not be out of the question either.

Really.

Don't wear your favorite T-Shirt either, because i had to wash mine 5 times before the PB stench came out. My car also stunk for 2 weeks.

ok guys i went to home depot and pepboys in search for 'pb blaster' , no luck. i did though pick up this stuff called "liquid wrench" says its ment for freeing rusted bolts and parts. So iim gonna give it a shot one more time tomorrow before i send it off to the muffler shop. Also i was just thinking that everytime ive tried to break the bolt free my car had been sitting for a couple hours, so this time im gonna make sure its hot, maybe it should help loosen that seal some.
