Door Locks

Here's a dilemma:

What does one do about getting a key for the door locks? When I bought the truck, the guy had no key for the doors, and the ignition was replaced with an aftermarket. So I have no way to unlock the doors if I lock them. Can you track down a replacement key for such an old vehicle, or will I have to replace the lock cylinders completely?

A good locksmith can cut a key for the locks. Take both of them out and send them to the locksmith just to be sure they both use the same key. Mine did not now they do.

The only thing I can think of would be to take it to a Nissan dealer and see if they can get the key code from the vin# or from the data plate. In most cases this service is Not free so ya might want to call them and find out the price before you take the truck to them.

Another option is to check the junkyards, they might just have a set they can pull off with the right keys...
