This would be VERY easy to make for yourself, you just need the clear protective film. I just bought something similar for my bumper and it was tough to install though, especially on a concave serfice like a door handle.

but a circle of film, a hair dryer and some patience and you can do it for $2-3 dollars.

Its not the keys that are the issue its your fingers touching the underside of the handle. Its worse for women with long nails. My passenger side door handle has scratches from my girlfriend.

You can make something like this waaaay cheaper than what they are selling it for on eBay.

Also wedding rings. When you get your GF the 6 carret diamond like I did (yea right) it has a good chance to hit the car. Same with Gloves in the winter...they just rub on the door with a harsh material.

Heres an idea, open the door for your lady!LOL!

My door is flawless, the passenger side where my girl gets in is a different story!

Cutting it yourself or buying a kit on ebay, either way its a difficult install because of the access you have to that area and the huge curve of it.

Amen, if you did it EVERY TIME they wouldn't think it was special, then they would want something even MORE special. Evently it ends with a toy poodle and no one wants that...

11 years; still open every door for her, and even let her drive the 6MT whenever she would like (of course I taught her on the Saturn a few years back). Nothing too good for my lifemate Wasn't for her wouldn't have half of what we got...

But back to the OP subject - both handles still looking great after a year.

I wouldnt mind making it myself. Where would I find the film, and what brand is it? I dont want anything that will fade or look bad obviously. Thanks.

You can buy just straight uncut film on Ebay, might cost 4$ flat for shipping then $2 a foot for a 2 foot wide piece (so $2 per 2 sqft.)

There might be someone on here that would do it also, but ship for actual cost.

Anyone have any 3M Clear Film?
